I'm ready to get another pair!!
Most comfortable shoe I've ever had. I've devoted a few foot problems, but these shoes help a lot. Even better than Hokas. I LOVE the wide toe box!!!

Too narrow through the mid foot/arch area
I have been wearing the previous model of these shoes and love them. These were much more narrow through the mid foot area. Very uncomfortable as it was digging into my arch. I had to return them! So, now, I've got to figure out what to do for my running shoes!

MIDFOOT TOO NARROW!!
Like several other reviewers, I wanted to love this shoe but found the midfoot/arch area TOO NARROW. ALTRA: WIDE MEANS WIDE. It does not mean "wide toe box, narrow midfoot." As another reviewer said, the midfoot narrows to the point that my arch/instep area is painfully walking *on top of* the vertical hard edge of the sole of the shoe. Whyyyy do shoe manufacturers do this??? Most of Altras styles have some sort of "stabilizing" bar/rail that comes up higher than the rest of the sole (just look at the side view of just about any Altra shoe) -- that rail is what those of us with wide feet are walking on top of. If that bar/rail were moved out another half inch to an inch -- in line with the forefoot/toe box -- it would do what it's intended to do: stabilize the midfoot. Wide feet are shaped like duck-feet. They don't taper so much in the midfoot (another foot-shaped brand that begins with a T is even worse at this, unfortunately). What's also strange is the lack of support in the midfoot area. I have low flexible arches, and the last eight months I've been battling plantar fasciitis. I decided to give these Via Olympus a try in hopes of healing the PF, along with a pair of Birkenstock Gizehs for summer. My feet are *loving* the Birks but hating these Altras. Compared to the Birks (after wearing minimally only a couple days), my midfoot in these Altras feels like it's sitting on a suspension bridge that runs crosswise of my foot, with a sag in the middle. Again, I really wanted to love these shoes, but my feet just won't tolerate the narrow midfoot. Sadly I'm going to have to return them.

I own three pairs!
I have suffered from plantar fasciitis and a ruptured plantar fascia for 2 yrs now. My local running store switched me from Hoka's to Altra in November last year and I'm never buying another brand again! They have literally given me back my life. I own the grey, black and white pairs.

I strongly recommend this running shoe.
This is exactly the running shoe I needed. It fits exactly right, including the necessary toe box width for my bunion. They are lightweight, and the cushioning is great. Perfect! I am about to order a second pair.

Painfully narrow
This shoe s very narrow in the mid foot / arch area. Unfortunately I did not wear the shoes a lot when I first got them and they're outside the return window. I assumed they would be great shoes because all my other Altria's are. I'm now looking for a hard arch support to put in that will hopefully protect my arch from the hard edge of the shoe digging in. I wonder if the men's version is wider? I wear the Mens Olympus hiking boots for work and love them. I do love the pink/orange/yellow color combination of this shoe. And I also like the softer cushioning.

Love these shoes!
Been an enthusiastic runner, I've had my fair share of foot and ankle injuries/surgeries. I still like to run pretty much every day, and I would say this model of this shoe is the best pair of running shoes. I've had in a long time. Few paychecks from now I plan to order second pair because I don't want this one to go away. I would highly recommend this shoe for anyone for roadrunning. It's the bomb!

I will buy this again
This brand was recommended by a coworker who has similar fitting and arch issues. I'm on my feet 95% of the day with multiple stops and starts. I could hop and jog in this shoe at the start-something I haven't been able to do on my feet for years. I wore them out of the shop and went jogging with my dog. It was exhilarating! I'm fine with the off white color.

I will continue purchasing this product
Been searching my entire life for this kind of comfort in a walking shoe. I love the way I glide like on a cloud. Sounds cheesy I know, but totally love this shoe. Pricey, but worth it for me to not have pain.

Bought the White, but NEED MORE COLORS
I had two knee surgeries on one knee in the last year and needed something that provided comfort upon impact. This shoe fits the bill! However, the color choices need to be more bold and modern. I will buy another pair when this happens!
