Why We Like The Radical Pro Alpine Touring Boot
The Radical Pro Alpine Touring Boot draws inspiration from the forlorn Hoji boot series, featuring a no-compromise platform for experienced backcountry skiers. The roomy 103.5mm last is paired with the HOJI lock walk mechanism which supplies an impressive 60-degrees of cuff mobility for uphill efficiency. The 120 flex and supportive Radical Pro lining offer descending characteristics inspired by alpine-caliber boots for bomber performance on steep and deep lines.

Crummy heel pocket
Loved my Hojis, but these have a crummy heel pocket and allow for a lot of rise. The ankle buckle in the previous design was angled down and back to lock in the heel. In this version the ankle strap seems to far forward and cinches more down than back, allowing for a lot of heel rise and foot slippage. Of note I also sized down a whole size from my Hojis that fit me so much better.

These are great boots for in bounds and touring. They take a bit to break in and definitely caused some tears in the process. The flex in the walk mode is amazing but make sure to get them fitted!

No foot pain
This boot is so comfortable and the Hoji locking system makes for a quick transition in the backcountry. I used to have foot pain while skiing and found that this boot fit my feet- locking in the heel while giving just enough space in the toe for my bunions. I use this with both tech and alpine bindings.

These are the most comfortable ski boots I have ever put on! I have wider calf’s and usually am unable to buckle my ski boots on the top one of two buckles, mostly I hook them, but can’t clip the back. This is the first pair of boots I’ve had that I’ve been able to buckle every buckle and have my legs not fall asleep! It’s a huge deal for me. The flex is insane, walking up and down stairs is a breeze. On top of being comfortable, and functional. Dynafit customer service was awesome, I had to make a size exchange and the return boots were lost in the mail. Dynafit worked with me and shipped out the size exchange anyway.

Confidence inspiring boot with awesome walk mode
This boot does it all for a “big boot” if you and even call it that given it’s still very light. It drives the ski in all conditions and the foot feels incredibly secure given the ankle strap. The Hoagie lever makes for a quick transition at the top and keeps your settings in place. The walk mode is awesome and makes long tours feel easy. Super confident inspiring when you are looking to ski hard. I find the fit to be very comfortable with no hot spots (probably first time ever) and the colors are rad. Love this boot!

Comfortable and great control!
These boots performed well on back to back 7 hour long tours. My feet stayed warm and comfortable throughout the day without sacrificing performance on the downhill!

Best performance boot for female freeriders.
I come from a freeride and freestyle background in skiing and have always prioritized downhill performance in choosing a ski touring boot. I used to ski on the Hoji Pro Tour W boot, but prefer this boot since it has a toe lug and the fit and flex feels better. Skiing on the Radical Pro W boot has not only allowed me to travel great distances efficiently and complete many ski mountaineering objectives, but it has also allowed me to trust my ability to ski hard downhill with performance similar to what I would have on my resort setup. I have a wider foot last at the toe box area, but a narrow heel and longer calf muscle. I typically buy 99mm last boots and punch them just below my pinky toe area. This boot fits my foot perfect out of the box and does not hurt my "6th toe" area because of the wider forefoot last, but my heel also stays put and does not move when I walk in the boot. The stiffness of the boot is quite stiff, probably similar to a 120 flex boot, but the flex is progressive and allows you to perform and play in your boot without hitting a wall. My only dislike of this boot is the quality of the liner. It is fine and lightweight, but shows a lot of wear and tear from rubbing on the inside of the shell, and eventually it starts to rip in areas and fold/create hot spots. I've warrantied the liners in the past but would love to see more durable liner material so they last longer especially in the main areas of motion that are obvious wear places. Overall, this is my perfect ski touring boot! Please keep making it and in smaller sizes too so my tiny footed female friends can also enjoy it. I am an average sized foot and I use one of the smallest size boots available...there are many women with much smaller feet than me! I am a size 7.5 US women's street shoe, 38 Euro, and I ski in a 23.5 Dynafit Radical Pro W boot.

Rocking backcountry boot
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
If you have a wider foot (I needed an over 100mm last) this is the one for you. Super light and goes uphill well. 120 hardness and reasonable forward lean mean that it descends almost as well as a true downhill boot even on hardpack and skis fabulous in powder. Couldn't recommend it more highly. One point of note is that Dynafit shell sizes run smaller than other brands - I ended up with a 26.5 here whereas I am normally a 25.5.
