This is the best Gaviota since the 2, but way too wide!
Extremely comfortable shoe, although it is too wide and my foot moves around in the huge toebox. I loved the Gaviota 2, and purchased 5 or 6 pairs of the 2, but disliked both the 3 and 4. The 5 is much better, because the fit, support, and rocker motion feel like the 2. I usually wear a 9.5, but had to size down to a 9. It is still tooo wide but I'm dealing with it (always wear my thickest socks), because except for the wideness of it, it's a great shoe. Please keep making it, just make it narrower or sell it in a narrow! Even though it's not a trail shoe, I use the Gaviota 2 for hiking 14ers in Colorado, and hope to use this shoe but am concerned the extra room inside the shoe may pose a stability problem.

New Hoka
I really like my new Hoka tennis shoes. I gave a 4 star rating because I have very narrow feet and, of course, they fit a bit wide. Other than that, I like the style, the colors, and how comfortable the shoes are.

Disappointed
My daughter normally fits a 9.5 perfectly, I received an email due to a large volume the order for the shoe took longer with expedited shipping. When she finally received the shoes they were a wide fit which I didn't select, and she needed it for her shin splints. So, I didn't send it back because of fear it would take even longer. She has to wear extra pair of socks just so they can fit.

Where is the Gaviota 4?? It was perfect
I don't know what changed in the design from the Gaviota 4 to the 5, but the 5 is about 1/2 inch wider than the previous version. When I initially ordered the 5, I did accidentally order wide, but exchanged them for a medium width. There doesn't seem to be much difference between the medium and wide. It is almost as if they are unisex sized. I loved the previous version. Sadly, I am going to have to either find a different style or switch back to Asics brand that I have worn for over 10 years.

Gaviota 5 the Game Changer
I got the evening sky/coral color in 8 wide and these babies are my absolute favorite pair of shoes I've ever put on my feet. I have two pair of Bondi 8, two speed gates (I wish any of the goretex came in wide but they don't) and a pair of Clifton's in wide. I haven't tried the Bondi 8 in wide yet but will at some point. These shoes are so comfortable, roomie and just give my feet a nice hug. Everything is cushioned where it needs to be since these are plush. I wore them for 8 hours today walking on and off most of the day and for the first time in decades my feet aren't sore anywhere. I have inherited bunions on both feet from my grandma and boy oh boy my right foot usually always aches because of the ol bunion. I refuse to get surgery simply because it's my feet and it's not guaranteed and I don't want to risk hurting them more. These shoes are my answer! I'm so impressed with how durable and comfortable they are. I love the colors and I just really appreciate Hoka shoes. I will definitely buy more in different colors. I walked on concrete, wood surface, gravel and dirt today with some surfaces wet. They don't slip at all. Sometimes even with bunions wide shoes are too wide for me, these aren't. They are just perfect for my issues. Hope this helps.

Too big disappointed with new H frame
I always wear a 7.5 Wide the old Gaviota 4 I had were awesome. The new version are way too big. I suffer from plantar fasciitis, have collapsed arches, and I over pronate. I even put in my protalus M95 insoles, they are very uncomfortable to run in and does not provide the usual support that the older version had. I had thrown the box away and I am unsure if I can return them. I would not recommend these!!

Not as comfortable fit as expected, needs more cushioning
Fit started out fine, use them for treadmill work 3x a week. Over time the inside part of the heel (collar) has folded down inside the shoe. Makes it feel like there is minimal contact between my foot and the shoe. Constantly feel like I am going to step out of the shoe. Will probably start to rub my heal soon and cause a blister. Probably should have gotten a shoe with a higher heel/collar.

Walking on Clouds
Hoka are the best comfortable women sneakers I ever purchased. I don't have an arch and theses Hoka sneakers was designed specifically for a person with flat feet. They impact when I am walking on the treadmill feels so lightweight. The best sneakers

Gaviota vs Stinson
Gaviota 5 feels a bit more snug in the toe box compared to the Stinson which is a good thing. Gaviota is also lighter in weight, also a good thing for me. I actually think I prefer the Gaviota over the Stinson. Both are great so maybe it's only about making a color choice. I bought both in colors that I liked.
