Force AM Tire
Developed for the needs of Michelin's enduro team riders, the Force AM 27.5in Tire fulfills the needs of riders bombing down aggressive trails littered with jarring rocks and hard-packed dirt. It's a bit faster rolling than many tires in the "all-mountain" category, making it ideally suited for running in the rear with a slightly more aggressive tire up front. The Trail Shield casing is impressively resilient from the sidewall slashes and unexpected flats across technical trails, courtesy of its high-density reinforcement layer.
Michelin's GumX3D compound strategically employs three rubber compounds for the best in fast-rolling efficiency, tread longevity, and gobs of cornering grip. As expected, the center features the hardest rubber compound for less rolling resistance and greater wear life, getting slightly softer as you transition to the cornering knobs for excellent control. This tubeless-ready tire readily seals up, so you can reap the benefits of extra bump compliance and added grip at lower pressures.

Having absolutely nothing to do with backcountry (you guys are always awesome), this tire has been a major letdown. It's "ok" at best. Rolls reasonably fast, but the grip is awful and it's ...for lack of a better word...fragile. I 100% LOVE the Wild Enduro I have on the front and it's been bulletproof but this Force AM just doesn't measure up, and my expectations were fair. I'll probably give the AM2 a try as it's got the same gravity shield casing as the Wild Enduro and a slightly more aggressive tread. The original Force Am reviewed here is a decent tire for mild mannered trail riders but it's not a tire I'd recommend on performance.
