1080 V12 and 13. Try before you buy!

This is my 6th pair of 1080s. With V12, NB changed something in the toebox. When I wear the shoes, it feels like my socks are bunching under my toes. The 1080 V13 have the same problem for me, but not as bad as the V12s. The foam sole remains the shoes main selling point. It feels like you are walking on clouds. The soles and weight of the shoe are excellent. That said, the discomfort from the toebox will have me looking at alternatives to NB for the first time in 25 years. Too bad!

Marshmallow Comfort

Very comfortable. I usually wear a 9.5 for most brands but size 10 for NB for a great fit.

Unbelievable comfort!

I have had 3 knee surgeries so a comfortable shoe is critical. This one is pricy, but worth it for how comfortable it is. It makes working out a lot easier and recovery a lot quicker. Can’t recommend enough!

Great foam cushion

Best sneakers ever. I have run in New Balance for 26 years. This is the best sneaker ever. I am a Clydesdale and the cushioning holds up a long time.

Soft but “ tippy” . A little instability

Like all NB shoes, the fit is very good. I was hoping that the shoe would have more stability . Try standing on one foot and you can see for yourself. Another brand offers that cushion effect but offers more firmness.

Nice foam, great style, needs ankle support.

Great shoe! The shoe looks great in person, everything from the designs in the foam to the mesh material used. I like the fact that the heal slightly protrudes out and away, allowing my feet to easily slide into the shoe. The foam is super soft, for running they are soft and bouncy, but it’s not over done, there is some mild firmness which I like. I feel that my heals can get a little sore just from standing. I use them for work as well, and my last 12 hour day my feet were still strong with slight soreness. I like how my big toes don’t tear the material above exposing my toe, my previous brooks shoes ( which have much more overall foot support) did that. A few things i would improve is the shoes need more ankle support, I’m still over pronating with this shoe. Also better insoles with arch support would help, for the price the insoles were cheap and lacked any support.

Favorite Shoe!

The 1080s are my favorite shoe line. Are they the fastest shoe? No. Are they perfect? Almost. I decided not to use my normal race day shoes for a marathon last weekend and wore my 1080s. I wasn’t as prepared for this race as I would have liked. The 1080s maintained a steady pace. I completed the race. The next day my legs felt great compared to when I use my normal race day shoes. I normally use my 1080s for recovery days or days I just want to go long and not care about my time. They are my favorite shoe. They are soft, yet springy. They lock down nicely with no hot spots or pinch points. My one and only complaint, with the weather warming up, they make my feet hot. They are a warm shoe. They are perfect for anything below 60 degrees. I have over 150 miles on the shoes and they look great!

Comfort Plus A+A+

I was recommended these shoes by a friend, so i bought a pair and do not regret it. These shoes, i have to say, have been the most comfortable shoes i have owned in a while. Very happy wearing them!
