Winter Sport Freedom!

I've had a chance to take this out for three skis with an infant in the Chariot. Felt great to get out on the trails and have the little one sleeping behind me. Pros: The stability of the Chariot is great, and having them up off the ground helps to keep them warmer that a ground-based pulk. Installation is super simple and you can even wax the skis to maximize glide. Also nice to be able to store a few extra things for you or the child in the pulk's ample cargo spaces. Cons: There's no dampening system between the pulk and the skier, so any bumps/accelerations/decelerations experience by the pulk are translated to the skiers hips. This take a little bit of getting used to, but after a bit, is fine. Despite Thule trying to make the system as light-weight as possible, it's still heavy and will only get more-so as the child grows; this makes the uphills a slog (but downhills are awesome!).

Smart set up but bad harness

I've been skiing a lot, with different pulk, ski types etc. The set up i smart, the cahriot is good but I was really disappointed by Thules harness solution for this setup. It's like they haven't tried it out. 1: This solution is not compatible with using a backpack, since it has a permanent attachment to the harness. 2: Every pulk harness should have shoulder straps, when skiing with a pulk you want to be able to lean forward and use your weight as extra help. That is impossible with just a harness around the waist. Third there is no shock absorber in the poles, that means that if you want to ski fast the chariot while bump back and forth and the kid is shaken all over the place. All of the points mentioned would be easy for Thule to make, and I am surprised that ha Swedish brand, had made such a bad solution. If not you should contact me and I'll help you out.

Careful

Need to be careful as I bought the Cx but it is NOT compatible with ALL ski attachments. Just bought a ski attachment and it DOES NOT FIT despite also being made by Chariot.

Winter freedom for our family LOVE

We purchased our Thule Chariot in part because of compatibility with the cross country ski kit and we could not be more pleased with the investment. Swap out process between strolling/ski mode is fairly straight forward and becomes easy enough with practice. Strongly recommend practicing a few times indoors before doing it in the cold while juggling babies. The waist belt is comfortable, I was able to pull child #1 while pregnant with child #2, until well into the 3rd trimester. Pulling a full double chariot does take more effort than skiing solo, but we have found it incredibly useful for our family. Whether I am taking both children out alone, or both parents are switching off on weekend adventures, it has allowed our family to stay active all winter long. Absolute favourite piece of parenting gear we have. Well worth the investment.
