Why We Like The Thule Chariot Lite Stroller

It's much easier and way more fun to take the kids on our adventures with the Thule Chariot Lite Stroller in tow. This Multisport stroller is ready right out of the box for around-town cycling and farmers market strolls, and with the necessary kits, we can take our tyke along for a run or a cross-country ski trip. Suspension in the wheels and a five-point harness secure and comfort passengers, even on bumpy paths, and the included cover and integrated vents keep them prepped for whatever weather comes our way. The adjustable handle can be set to the perfect height for our comfort, too.

Swapping between sports is a snap with Thule's Click n' Store external storage. The front wheels fold up while the bike hitch is out, or the hitch tucks away while the wheels are down. The stroller also folds down compactly to save space in the car while we drive to our starting point.

Excellent, more than enough features

I purchased the Chariot Lite double about a month ago and I've been very satisfied with it. Previous to owning the Chariot Lite I had a Chariot Cross, which I loved as well but it was unfortunately stolen. When replacing it I opted for the slightly cheaper slightly lighter Chariot Lite and I think I like it even more than the Cross. The dimensions and utility of the two are the same, the notable differences being the Cross has a retractable trunk, reclining seats and the suspension is adjustable. I almost never adjusted the seats or suspension in the 4 years we owned the Cross and while I liked the retractable trunk, I decided that I'd be ok settling for the mesh pocket on the Lite. Having used the Chariot Lite for several weeks I can say I think I prefer the mesh pocket over the trunk and I've appreciated the 4lb reduction in weight when listing it up stairs or into the back of our car. Both the Lite and the Cross are the same dimensions, which on the double, is quite wide, barely fitting through standard doorways. Although I only have 1 child, I'm glad I have the extra width for carrying groceries, a kids bike, one of our kid's friends, etc. One last note: We did bring the Chariot Cross on an airplane earlier this year before we had to replace it, and while it got a few strange looks from airline staff at first, we got several compliments on how flat it folded down with the wheels off, and they checked it as a stroller without issue.

Easy to use and sturdy

The Thule Chariot Lite has been great. Our 2 year old things it's comfortable, at least comfortable enough to sleep in a few time, and it's incredibly easy to use. Being able to switch from pulling behind the bike to pushing as a stroller in seconds has come in handy a few times.

Smaller than expected

I’ve been using this for a few weeks now and it’s smaller than I expected. My twins aren’t even 2 yet and their arms are touching. Looks lovely, folds easily, great features and runs smoothly, just wish it was wider

Great jogger, bike trailer, ski trailer.

We've used all four functionalities and they all behave better than I expected. The bike trailer has zero chatter and is basicallu silent. Transitions all take under a minute once you get them mastered. The rain cover is bombproof. I get questions about this rig everywhere we go. We've been pleasantly impressed by the engineering decisions.

The only stroller you need for an active family

We are in love with our Thule chariot. I’m a less is more kinda person but I will splurge when something is truly worth it and this chariot is exactly that. We travel internationally with ours, break it down with ease to toss in the car, go on serious off road hikes and grocery shopping all while keeping the kiddo cozy and contained no matter the weather. Can’t recommend it enough!

Works, but some frustrations

It works for what we need. However, there have been some frustrations. We already owned the cheetah single passenger trailer, which I found more user friendly. This updated model has a rain cover that is very tight and hard to pull over. On top of that it has bungee cords that wrap around hooks, and one of the hooks came off already. The flag pole does not go in deep enough as with the previous model, and has popped out while riding. Finally taking it on and off the bike and converting to a stroller has been more challenging than with our Cheetah. The parts get stiff, and the rubber to hold the pin infront of the ball and socket is placed poorly or too tight, so that it's a pain each time to connect/disconnect. After the great experience we had with our Cheetah, I'm sorry they updated the 2 person Carrier from the Cheetah model to the Chariot Lite. Bummer.

No regrets purchasing this trailer!

We live in the mountains so we need something that is stable through different types of terrain: gravel, dirt, snow, ice, sand, pavement, grass, etc. I love the different trailers options so that we can stay active through the 4 seasons. We have the Urban Glide Stroller & Sapling Child Carrier - both made of high quality materials - and our experience with Thule products have been far beyond our expectations. We decided to go with a brand we trust and are familiar with. Even though we only have one child, we purchased the double sized trailer for more space + the option to have a friend’s child ride with. This trailer does not disappoint! It has superior suspension that gives my son a comfortable ride without being jarred from side to side, has an amazing turning radius (ability to turn on a 2-lane bike path without having to veer into the bushes), and is very stable through uneven terrain (even with my son’s weight just on one side). With no doubt we have the safest and most reliable trailer for our son.
