AWESOME
Totally awesome. Love these pedals. From entry any side, to the strong hold, and to the quick release. Totally recommend these to any rider.

Cleats is cleats

Okay, what can you say. These fit speedplay pedals and are rather generic. Why replace cleats? Well, if the circular clip in the cleat breaks (with age) it can jam into the pedal and make your shoe stuck. Now, you always have the other pedal to get 'unclipped' but these cleats do wear out.

A plus and minus
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I’m a long termed speedplay user- road and mountain bike. These cleats have the benefit of being much easier to clip in and out of- Which is a common complaint with speedplay zeros. The easy in/out has a downside though. The range of movement is narrower than on the standard cleats. As such, if you swivel a little more than the range you can accidentally unclip. This happened in a fast paced group ride when I was putting a lot of force into my pedals. Not cool- Made me swerve a bit as my foot came out. Thankfully i have several bike shoes with the standard zero cleats - so I don’t wear the shoes with these cleats to group rides or during HIT training intervals where they might disengage. So these are ying and yang cleats- great ease of clipping in and out and honestly have not disengaged during normal rides. So they are ideal for most of the rides most people will do. I’d just be careful with them if you’re going to do some hard effort work or spirited group rides or racing

So, so much better than the old ones

Sometimes in the past, I had to use an ample supply of lube to make my Speedplay cleats work well. Not with the new gray model. These are a huge improvement. Huge.

Love Speedplay
I've used the Speedplay light action cleats for years....love them! These Easy Tension cleats work exactly the same as the original ultra light action...easy to clip in and out.

I’ve used a lot of
I’ve used a lot of different pedals in my cycling life and SpeedPlay are the best for ease of entry and exit, adjustable float and zero maintenance.

Need to re-engineer
Very difficult to keep the base flat so the covers can slip on. It seems they stopped engineering the design. I tried the shims in every configuration. Sometimes even the shortest screws would distort the base by pressing on the bottom of the shoe. The base needs to be perfectly flat. SPEEDPLAY Easy Tension Bike Cleats won't work for many bike shoes.

A very good pedal
Very good pedal and have used both the standard tension as well as the easy tension. I prefer the easy tension as the standard took along time to "break in" and the easy tension right away worked easily getting in and out and I have never released when I didn't want to. I've been riding for 40 plus years and used Speedplay's Xseries for most of those but the zero comes close.

SpeedPlay Easy Tension Cleats - Very Good
I’ve been using older SpeedPlay Light Action pedals on my road bikes. I recently upgraded to the Wahoo SpeedPlay Powerlnk pedals with the Easy Tension Cleats. A very easy transition for me and I am very satisfied.
