Why We Like The Hero Angler Paddle

Accent Paddles created the Hero Angler Paddler in partnership with a program that helps our nation's veterans and military personnel find a more positive daily life through kayak fishing. We love this fishing paddle because it not only brings us a comfortable, ergonomic grip that alleviates stress and strain on wrist joints, but also some peace of mind knowing that it being in our collection helps give back to those who've served.

My most comfortable and powerful paddle

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Size Bought:
250
Height:
5' 9"
Weight:
162

I've been in pursuit of my perfect paddle. have several hybrid paddles and a couple carbon paddles, including a 240cm Whitewater paddle (Perception) and my ranking was 24cm Aquabound Manta Ray and Perception Whitewater CF as my favorites, depending on situation. Now I may have a new favorite. The hero grip is so much more comfortable that I don't need gloves and I really like that. The blade size seems just right. It is as powerful as the Whitewater, but no more tiring on a sprint than the Manta Ray. And, it is even better at doing both high angle power paddling and lower angle cruising than the Manta Ray. It seems to maneuver my boat forward, backward and in turns, including multiple spins, a little better. It is a little heavier in terms of weight, but the power makes up for it, so I think it is now my first go to paddle and should be in any situation except possibly frenzied whitewater, but I won't know until I try.
