Made for someone with wide hips

I typically purchase a size small but after reading reviews I went for the medium. Way too large in the waist/hips and rather tight in the thighs. I have an athletic build and these were not compatible. Made for someone with wide hips and skinny thighs! They are also not high waisted even though they look like they'd be:/
