Loose Liner

I like the color, fit, and overall feel of the shorts, but I’m not a fan of the liner which I find to be exceptionally loose-fitting. Would prefer a snugger, more supportive liner.

Very Happy with these Shorts

I'm the kind of guy who likes to run with a phone, which is kind of annoying I know, but I'm sure I'm not alone. Problem is the phones kept getting bigger and heavier and eventually my trusty pair of running shorts couldn't handle it. Literally the phone pocket tore open from the strain, and I've been searching around for a new pair ever since. Also I'm picky. Finally after several attempts with other shorts, these arrived and I was totally thrilled that they looked good and felt good and my phone could fit in either the front OR back pockets. In the back, it bounces around a bit which I don't love, but still, it fits. Zipped close. With case. I'm really into these. I bought a M, but as a slim man with a 31-inch waist size, it's possible I might be better in a S. These are a tad loose on me. I couldn't try this though, because as of writing they are now only available in L and XL and also on deep discount, which makes me worried they are about to be discontinued. Don't do it, Backcountry! You're on to something here. Maybe you are just about to introduce an improved model, in which case a little key/coin pocket at the waistband would be nice.

Must admit, very pleasantly surprised by these shorts - better than I had expected. Great material, quality and attention ti detail. Super quick drying too. Buying a second pair! Enjoy wearing these on any workout - running, kayaking, spinning or simply walking.

Best running and training shorts

Finally found the perfect shorts after years of searching and trying. I am a trail runner in Arizona, specifically needing rugged, cool and lightweight shorts. The elastic band is medium strength and can get away without using the drawcord, but for long distance runs or intense training I like to tie them up tighter. The fit runs a tad on the baggy side, although they still have a nice fitting cut to them. This gives them nice deep pockets and breathability. Not typically one to like shorts liner, but this lining is unobtrusive and can wear sliders underneath if desired. Wore them on a 15 mile, 4,000k ft elevation gain run in the summer sun and stayed cool with no chaffing. Stocking up on more, these will be my go-to ultra marathon shorts.
