Great fit, poor quality wool

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

The fit of the zip top is great but it started to pill after one wash. I have other merino wool pieces from Smartwool for example and they haven't pilled after years of wear and tear and washes. I love the patterns but the quality is not up to the standards I would expect from this brand.

Old version was 5-star, new is 2.5-star

I've put it through the wringer

The older one was amazing - the fabric held up, it looked amazing, and it was SO warm. The new material is not as warm and doesn't hold up as well (pills a lot). Yes, it doesn't help with odor protection, but that's not why I buy thermals so I feel like that's irrelevant. If Backcountry went back to the original fabric it would be worth the $60-7$0 price, but the new one certainly is not.

Not worth the price

The top doesn't fit very well and pulls up. It also doesn't offer very well "sweat and odor management." I don't sweat much but this doesn't seem to offer any sweat protection.

Poor quality

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I bought the older version of this top for my wife and the fit is nice but the fabric is majorly pilling and not in good condition after only a few washes. She says it is very warm, but the overall quality and durability is not good at all on this item. Not worthy of the high price tag

Quality is bad

Familiarity:

I was excited to find this under layer as the price made it seem a great deal. However, the materials are quite bad, it makes you sweat easily and it doesn’t keep you warm
