Birkenstock Milano Soft Footbed Sandal
Birkenstock fans are a loyal bunch, and that is because of footwear like the Men's Milano-Soft Footbed Sandal. This sandal offers the legendary comfort and fit that Birkenstock wearers go on and on about, and Birkenstock even added an extra EVA cushion layer into this sandal to give you a new level of comfort for all-day wear. It also included a back-strap to keep foot-slip to a minimum and let you push the Milano Sandals into light-hiking use. The ultra-soft suede footbeds support your arch to reduce foot fatigue. Birkenstock's grippy, durable outsole will give you plenty of traction on the sidewalk and on the trail for a long time to come.

Believe The Hype
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I have been wearing Birks for about a decade now. Really comfy; they set your feet right. Easy to slip in and out of; I never unbuckle them. When the soles wear out, you can get new ones slapped on there for much less than a new pair costs. In fact, you can re-craft the entire shoe for less than a new pair, so long as the leather lasts (I haven't worn out the leather in ten years). Simple construction: cork waste from the wine industry, natural fibers and glue, a metal buckle, and leather. When it's cold out, I wear them with wool socks. They are my year-round standard shoe unless I'm in a suit or adventuring. Only downside: the original sole doesn't give a lot of traction on smooth surfaces when it's wet out (you can get grippier soles on re-soling), so they are not for hiking or water activities. It's not a deal breaker.
