I got this light jacket because a hiker I know wears it every week to go to higher summits. So far I've been wearing it on errands, walks, and in the rain to test it out. It is a nice soft fabric, not too shiny and not feeling like an old fashioned rain jacket. It feels like a modern breathable fabric. The sewing and the feminine fit are superb. Rain drops bead up and roll off. I have not tested it in prolonged rain but for me this would be for active hiking to release some body heat but not get a chill from wind. I got the pomegranate color in XL to fit over merino wool or fleece layers. I could have fit a large in a t-shirt but even going up a size it is a nice slim look. With the sale price I have now ordered the light blue as well. Black Diamond is currently my favorite brand for their high quality and thoughtful designs. Thank you Backcountry!

HUGE pocket

Pocket is big enough to fit a phone, sunglasses and bandana all at the same time. On the heavier side (~7.8oz) Not too warm - cool enough to wear in situations where I'd usually have to strip down to short sleeves.
