Don't work with all poles?
Have had my BD Trailback poles since '20 and they have thousands of miles on them. These "Long" model tips do not slide all the way onto the poles. So after a couple hundred miles the very end of the tips were bending and one finally broke. My original tips didn't do that and lasted forever. I found a BD pole in a river crossing this summer that had the same exact issue with the tip as well. I see by the product # and description these are the "long" model. It looks like the "short" model is no longer sold?? Judging by one review here there used to be a short model tip. BD needs to be more specific about what poles these tips are compatible with. Or BD needs to provide more detailed instructions, maybe that the new tips need to be put in hot water before installing, or maybe something else to get these tips to slide on all the way. Are my poles not compatible with these "long" tips? Just sliding the new tips on and banging the pole on the floor per the instructions DOES NOT get these tips on all the way. In had to buy the short Leki tips for my poles. They didn't fit perfectly but fit well enough that the ends of the tips had zero issue with bending and prematurely breaking. Breaking a tip on a thru hike can be a major pain and the old tips are definitely not as easy to get off as the comments here suggest in my experience.

Third repair

Bend and break easily
These tips are light weight, but they tend to bend and break easily. Trying to use these with a Dynafit binding to turn the binding can cause them to break easily.

Great replacement
First, thanks to BD for offering replacement parts for their poles. I have used BD poles for decades and I’ve always been able to get replacement parts that work. These replacement tips were no exception. Thanks to the enclosed instructions they were easy to replace.
