Amazing and Stylish Harness
I bought this for my climbing gym and future ice. It is comfortable, durable, and doesn't get in the way. I love the blue compliment with my vapor helmet. I appreciate the clipper loops, haul loop, and adjustable leg loops. Super nice all-around harness.

Multi-Use Harness
Nice, lightweight harness. Good for trad/sport. I like the addition of the extra gear loop in the back.

The Do it all Harness
Perfectly from hard redpoints to 15+ multis. only complaint is that if your carrying 24 draws and 10 alpines your gear loops can get quite full, an unlikely problem for a lot of people but worth mentioning.

My go to ice harness
Great harness for ice climbing. Plenty of clipper slots and not too heavy.

Great all-around & trad harness
Pros: -Excellent balance of racking space, comfort, weight & packability. -The large 5th gear loop is extremely nice to have for trad & multi-pitch. -BD's 4 pressure-molded gear loops are very easy to clip. I dislike when companies compromise the back two gear loops by making them not rigid to save weight. That may be fine for sport focused harnesses but not what I want for a trad harness. I was closely considering the new Petzl Aquila but decided against it, partially because it suffers from this issue. Cons: -Needs a second loop to better manage the extra tail of the waist belt and even the legs loops. I am in between sizes and decided to try the larger size because I liked how it kept the gear loops more forward/easier to access, and for layering, but in turn this means I have a lot of extra tail on the waist belt and leg loops. Other harnesses offer a second loop to better manage excess tail. -It would be great if the two back gear loops were the same larger size as the front two. - The 5th gear loop is a bit difficult to see since it's black and a narrow gauge cord. I would prefer it to be a bright color.

An under-recognized true do-all harness
I'm surprised this harness isn't a bit more popular - it is a rare example these days of a true do-all harness. Its comfortable, and loaded with the features that I look for in a versatile harness: - Modern, wide and low bulk waist and leg bands with a "split webbing" technology - Large-ish gear loops - 4 ice clipper slots (two on each side) - 5th gear loop for belay and anchor gear, shoes, UL rain jacket, water bottle and other necessities for a "rope, rack, shirt on your back" approach to long multi-pitch climbs - Haul loop Personally, I prefer fixed leg loops, but I think that manufacturers should provide both options, as some like adjustable leg loops. Minor gripes with this model: - The adjustable legs seem to work loose a bit. Maybe a tighter buckle would fix this, or even double backed leg buckle, as that would allow for adjustability, but prevent the annoyance of having to re-adjust periodically. The auto-double backed speed buckles are probably more idiot proof though, as fewer and fewer ppl are exposed to traditional double backed buckles. I'm all for speed buckles/auto-double backed buckles on the waist. - The extra webbing from the adjustable legs terminates in a traditional folded and sewn tab, however, this tab can actually get stuck in wiregate draws and interrupt clipping a draw to protection. This happens easier/more often than you would think. I fixed this by sewing that tab down a bit more so it wouldn't get stuck in wiregates, but additional spots to anchor the extra webbing to the leg loop would be a nice improvement and fix this. - Both of the above gripes are reasons I like fixed leg loops more. - The haul loop could be a bit beefier - I'll say this on every BD harness review: the gear loops could be a bit bigger, in both width and depth. On this model, particularly depth, as the front gear loops are already made bigger widthwise Overall, this harness is everything anyone could ask for in a do-everything harness: it won't hold anyone back in sport, has all the features for big days of rock or ice, and the adjustable legs will help tune the fit for those with more powerful quads than I. Now BD please make something basically exactly like this but with fixed legs!

Comfortable all-arounder for the mountains
As someone just starting to step away from the sport crag and into alpine objectives, I was talked out of the Couloir, BDs minimilist mountaineering harness, and into the Technician by a great local gear shop here in Denver. Both come in at the same MSRP as of this review. The Technician's added comfort comes with additional weight and volume as one might expect. The Couloir's greatest asset, (other than it's small size) are the waist and leg buckles that allow you to take it off wearing skis or crampons. The Technician is slid on and off like a pair of pants as most harnesses are. The Technician comes with adjustable leg loops so layers (or the lack thereof) shouldn't be an issue. It's a comfortable harness to walk and hang in, it has plenty of loops for gear (4 ridgid loops on the sides and a thinner loop on the back for towing), and even spots for ice screws. This harness will stay with my mountaineering kit, but it would also serve me well at the sport crag, the gym, or anywhere else that called for a harness. I've used the Solution for sport climbing for years and it's always served me well. This is a similar harness in reliability and maybe even a bit more comfortable, but built for snow and mountain travel. BD has done it again with another great piece of gear!

Great harness
Extremely comfortable harness! Used it during my first session back in a while and took a few whips in it and hung in it for a good while and it was super comfortable.
