Why We Like The BLUE ICE Akila Ice Axe + Adze

Ultralight yet technical, the BLUE ICE Akila Ice Axe + Adze keeps us moving quickly and efficiently on our backcountry tours. The reverse-curve pick offers precision on steep ice, while the wider adze quickly clears snow for placing screws. When it comes time to shred that hard-earned powder, this tool's compact design and the included protectors let us easily and safely stash it away.

Great crossover axe

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Perfect axe for routes that require mostly non technical axe work and just a lightweight arrest tool, but also have a steep pitch or two where you'll want something more technical that swings comfortably, has great bite and has a bit of grip with the sliding pommel. My new go to for everything short of vertical ice
