Great for heavy loads

Seems like a great pack. i imagined this design style, i.e. a big box strapped to your back, would be unwieldy to carry, but it's not. This is the best climbing pack for me (30 years). My requirements are carry a ton (trad climbing with weather kit and enough gear to onsight things that are hard for me).

King of Climbing Packs

This is by far the best climbing backpack I've ever owned. I use it for Trad climb cragging because it's so darn easy to load, but I also find myself using it for long multipitch approaches as well because the padding is so good. It doesn't hurt my shoulders! Only time I don't use it is for Sport cragging, multipitches that don't return to the base of the climb, and for on long Alpine approaches (i.e. Tetons, etc) Pros: -It's overengineered to be tough as nails (I think it will last forever) -It's got a full length zipper right down the front for easy access (much easier than a certain Creek backpack) -Has hidden side pockets for layers -Small pocket on top which is super easy to get to -Helmet carry ability -Rope carry ability -Water reservoir compatible -Stand up on it's own for top-loading gear in. -Actually large enough to carry big climbing racks and food/water, etc etc Cons: I haven't been able to come up with one.
