Great traction and durability.
I needed something like this shoe for a recent event. I am a long time Brooks fan and was a little concerned when some of the reviews complained of stiffness in the shoe. This concerned me as my mom gave me high arches. I elected to trust the Brooks team and my trust was well founded. These are great shoes, have great soft surface traction and while stiffer than a road runner, these aren't road running shoes. Happy customer.

Many many miles in Cascadias
I’m a Brooks and Cascadia fan having bought 8 pairs so far. When researching the Appalachian Trail these trail runners were the most popular hiking shoe. But what I really like is to go to my favorite running store and ask to see their golf shoes. The fit young sales people give me a kind smile—I’m 70–and say they don’t sell golf shoes but I tell them they do; the Cascadias are great for walking hilly courses and more comfortable than most golf shoes. Then they wear like iron.

More comfort with wooden clogs
Great looking shoe, but the most uncomfortable I've ever tried, better with clogs, had to return, gutted .

I like the stability of the shoe; great for protecting your ankles on trail runs and hiking. Only negative is the tight toebox and across the top of the foot. They do take some breaking in that I have not really seen with other Brooks I have owned over the years but overall a good shoe.

Too stiff
These do not work well as hikers. My foot kept cramping and cramping.

good traction/light
Hello, the shoe feels a bit lighter /lower cut and less stable than my prior Caldera shoe. Not sure how it will do with further poor conditions on the trail. So far I have only done a couple of longer dirt road runs with it. The traction was solid in the mud/snow sections that I ran on. The cushioning is adequate, but I can't quite put my finger on why it doesn't feel as comfortable as the Caldera. It will maybe take some time to see how it gells on long hikes/runs in the cascade mountains.

Enjoying the benefits of running trails in a trail shoe.
The first few runs they seemed rigid. After that they've softened up and feel very comfortable, even cushiony. What I really like about them I discovered today. I was running up a fairly long and steep gravel hill and when I got to the top I felt much less tired than usual, which made me think I was getting fitter. Then I realized it was because my Cascadia 17 GTX had not allowed my feet to slip, so I expended a lot less energy than usual getting up the hill. It made me smile.

Get ready to feel the pain
Walked 14 city miles in these in one day and at the end of the day my feet were in pain like they’ve never been before in any other shoes I’ve worn. The midsole foam on these is very stiff so they’re very unforgiving and the insole is absolutely trash. It provides as much cushion as a piece of cardboard. Hopefully I can salvage these with aftermarket insoles. A regrettable purchase.

Too narrow
I am a nurse and always wears brooks.. I tried these because they were waterproof (for bodily fluids) but they are way too narrow and KILL my feet..
