I am about 175 and 5’8” I do wear smaller boots so no risk of toe drag (shoe size 9 but I wear Burton ion since 8 US boots). I own a 159cm Feels more like true camber, responsive and lively but not twitchy. I have been snowboarding for many years, mostly using all mountain boards, have two prior versions of the Burton custom x in my quiver. I had been waiting for a similarly constructed board but with more free ride powder characteristics for a directional board. Picked up this board before a trip out to Whistler Thoughts: if you are a confident and competent rider this is a great board. I hear so much about this board as to want to go straight etc, but to be honest, those reviews seem to be more for beginners getting on this board. Give it the right inputs and this board is not just a want to go straight machine, it rides a carve as good as anything. Base is fast and it grips well. There is a lot of real estate on the nose as it is a true directional for more pow. It is not really the best feeling switch ride, but it will do. Come up to bumps n the resort and expect to deal with issues regarding long nose to tail issues (you know what I mean if you have ridden different types of boards). The board is fast and predictable. Yes it prefers to go all out, but rests assured that if you are hitting groomers (while waiting for the deep stuff to open at a resort early in the day) you can rip and have fun. Stable at speed and definitely good with no real chatter up to just under 50mph. Great in deep stuff. Big nose stays afloat and reference stance is good. This is more of a traditional camber feeling board. If you are looking for a true catch free feel then you want something else. Edge to edge is nice, and it will hold a carve and respond to your weight transfer predictably. No uplifted nose contouring like bataleon or others so you need to be aware of your inputs (like any board with a more traditional shape), but that isn’t necessary. This board likes to go, and is a good carver if you commit, and it is a great board in the deep. It for a beginner, but even an intermediate rider can get a lot out of it and really enjoy all it has to offer. Side note: everybody thinks it is a hometown hero and I have been asked how much I like the HTH while riding it. I explain it is a different board and get blank looks, to which I really don’t care too much. ;-)
