Why We Like The Columbia Newton Ridge BC Boot
With the new Newton Ridge BC Boot, Columbia's classic hiking boot gets a little makeover with hairy suede uppers and wide laces for more of a casual outdoor aesthetic. This may be a new look for the Newton Ridge, but it still features Columbia's Omni-SHIELD water resistance, lightweight Tech-lite midsoles, and Omni-Grip outsoles for the kind of hiking performance we've come to expect from Columbia.

Outdoor Educator Found a Great Boot for Off-season
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very comfortable pair of lightweight, cool weather boots. These are not water proof, and a little drafty. Perfect for late fall days working in the office when the farms been put to rest for the winter. I recommend using a spray sealer/protectant on the suede. Quite honestly looked all over for a pair of functional office/lightduty outdoor boots and I’m very pleased with these. I’ve worn them for only two weeks. I really hope they hold up for a couple years. I last purchased a pair of Merrill’s that didn’t hold up very well at all often one season.

Performs Great with Style to Match

I have to say that I’m not normally one to purchase shoes specifically for walking & hiking, but I figured I probably should. I did a lot of research, and ultimately settled on these because they hit both points that I look for: style and price. When they arrived, I was immediately impressed with how light they are. Way lighter than some of my other well-known boots! I ordered my normal shoe size and these fit perfectly. A little bit of room inside to keep from feeling cramped, but tight enough to inspire confidence on trails. I’ve worn these on a few hikes and a few flat-ground walks, and I have no complaints! Packed dirt, loose gravel & rocks, and even snow, these boots trudged through it all without issue. Do yourself a favor and snag a pair of these bad boys! You won’t be disappointed.
