Splish, splash.

One could argue that rainy days are meant to be spent inside, maybe with a good book while curled up by the fire, and those folks wouldn't be wrong—but they also haven't heard about the Columbia Toddler Girls' Redmond Waterproof Shoe, either. This little number lets you head outside even on gloomy days, all the way down to a wooded trail or grassy meadow, because it comes equipped with a waterproof membrane and fully-sealed seams. Once the issue of dry feet has been taken care of, your little one can relish in the comfort afforded by this shoe's lightweight midsole and trail traction. You might end up carrying her by the time the day is done, but up until that point she'll delight in splashing about in the trail puddles, happy as a clam.

Comfortable

Comfy shoe, worn while playing in sand dunes and then rocky surfaces. My daughter loves them.

Works as advertised

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a parent of five children, it's hard to find gear of high quality across the age spectrum that everyone likes. We are either hiking or outside daily. These shoes have over 10 miles on them since we received them a couple of weeks ago. The fit, functionality and sturdiness is the same across the range of sizes I purchased from a toddler's through my own. We have hiked flat land to Rocky Mountain peaks without a single complaint about feet or soreness... without any additional breaking in. They have traversed streams and played in lakes. I wish I could only take away a half star, as my only complaint was the lack of color options in stock. I know, it's picky. Short of that, the only other thing I've had to do is tuck in lace ends for the smallest as they go past her toes when tightened. I look forward to passing these down among the children next season.

Great for kids on the go!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son is 3 and loves them! He says they are, “like dad’s shoes”. We hike trails often and he splashes through the puddles as well. Great overall shoe!

Perfect kids hiking shoes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My almost 4 year old loves these hiking shoes. We try to hike every weekend and these shoes were perfect on all terrains, they are also waterproof. Overall beat hiking shoes for kids.

Comfortable shoe with great traction

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A great comfortable shoe for hiking. Keeps my son's feet dry. Great traction for hiking. Will definitely recommend, especially as my son needs bigger sizes.

Little hiker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these in the next size up for my son, he has wide feet. I'm glad I went a size up as they are snug in the width and not as easy to get on as other kids' styles from Columbia. They fit good after they are on. The elastic adjuster works well to tighten the shoe but when he outgrows these I may purchase the velcro style like my daughter has because you can open that style up more to get on easier, we'll see how these break in as they are getting easier to get on with wear time. Other than the snug issue putting the shoes on they are a great product. My son has way better traction from the omni grip sole and he can stomp through puddles without getting his socks soaked. He can move on the trails a lot easier and he's not slipping all over anymore. I notice he's moving a lot easier on rugged ground with these shoes. I do like the elastic adjusters so the only thing I would change about these shoes is maybe be able to open them more or be able to pull the tongue down more so they are easier to put on. This is definitely not a deal breaker because my son loves them. They are overall great shoe if you take your kids hiking and trail walking with you.
