Yahoo—sugar high.

You don't have to be the owner of an acutely sensitive sweet tooth in order to understand how saccharine the DPS Wailer 106 Pure3 Ski truly is. Designed to deliver rollerblade-like turns and an edge-to-edge sensation so responsive you'll forget that effort is required when initiating turns (though, don't wrangle yourself into the backseat or you'll regret it), the Wailer 106 Pure3 is something of an all-mountain ski that pushes through crud, powder, and varied terrain alike.

First and foremost, the Wailer 106 Pure3 boasts a pretty fabulous sweet spot, starting with its 106mm width waist, which ultimately makes it versatile enough to handle a day at the resort or the backcountry. And unlike its sibling counterparts in the Wailer line, this ski features a slightly more traditional shape (i.e. a partial twin tip design) and more true-to-size construction that further plays up its versatility—not to mention its mounting point isn't as far back as say the 112 or 99. Speaking of mounting points, the newly debuted Chassis construction optimizes on your center of gravity and creates a harmonious relationship (and therefore smooth turn initiation) between the innate flex pattern of the ski and the tapered sidecut technology, so you're able to really feel and revel in your skiing experience.

Now, that's all good and fun, but the true genius lay within the Wailer's Pure3 core. This no-nonsense technology is fashioned with carbon fiber laminates and aspen wood core that not only make it 30% lighter than conventional core constructions, but also 30% torsionally stiffer and therefore stronger and more powerful. Combine the wood and carbon fiber with the wide profile, Rockwell 48 steel edges, UHMW sidewalls, and World Cup race bases, and you've got yourself a recipe for seriously sticky-sweet fun, not to mention a hooting-and-hollering good time—regardless of whether or not the conditions are prime, which preferably, they are.
