Why We Like The Free 107 Ski

With all the features that made Dynafit's Beast a... well, a beast in the backcountry, the Free 107 Ski issues a whole new touring experience for Dynafit. It's certainly light and right and touring far and wide, and a stiffer platform provides a more solid downhill experience. Carbon-laminated poplar and ash keep a sturdy feel as we careen down snowy steeps in search of deep powder stashes and more. Sidewalls increase the ski's torsional rigidity for a sturdy edge-to-edge in narrow chutes and no-fall zones.

Great skis

Been riding them on the lift and off, better powder ski than anything. Really like how they’re going so far, alittle soft for hard charging moguls or piste but that’s not what they’re made for.

Fun and easy to ski all-around shredders

I rode these skis all season and I'm very happy with them! I have both the 181s and 188s. I'm 5'10 and I find the 188s are the do-it-all one ski quiver that I take out on most days. They're stable and confidence inspiring when I'm shredding hard and sending it. But they're also fun and playful when I'm just cruising the mountain with friends inbounds or out. The 181s are my go too for longer days in the mountains or anytime having a quick and nimble ski is a priority. Like when I skied a 55 degree couloir above a large cliff this spring!

Shockingly versatile smile machine

I've spent the second half of this winter on the Free 107 in 173 cm (I weigh 145 lbs, 5'8" tall), and I these skis still make me giggly happy. Uphill and downhill, they are just plain fun. Watch the promo video with Sawyer; my impressions definitely mirror his. I'm not throwing crazy butters or 360s like he is, but for my diet of modest airs, bumps, tight trees, crud, fast hard pack and western US powder, these skis have yet to show a weakness. They are equally delightful on piste and in the backcountry. I finally got them to protest when trying for a fast run on the slalom course at my local hill. If it had been GS gates, they probably would have still been fun. For my money, with light bindings, these hit the perfect balance of downhill performance and uphill weight. Get the precut skins. And a trucker cap while you're at it. These skis will make you want to rep Dynafit.

Poppy and versatile

I purchased these and some Rotation bindings in a charity auction (thanks to Dynafit for supporting the AMGA) and took these out for a couple days in typical East Coast resort conditions, i.e. hard ice the first day and soft, heavy snow with scattered 'soft ice' the next... so not the conditions these boards are designed for. But they performed like a champ, biting far better than expected in the ice and doing great in the soft stuff, feeling pretty surfy. They are very poppy and playful skis, and they want to always be turning. I was impressed with their ability to make a wide range of turn shapes and styles, so I could carry some speed up to a crux point, carve a couple quick slalom turns to check my speed, and easily transition from carving to slarving before dropping in. They also did nicely in some small moguls. I was really impressed with how versatile they are, and I havent even used them in decent snow yet.

great light weight pow ski

These skis were my work horses for the 2021-2022 winter season backcountry ski guiding and teaching avalanche courses. They are the first ski of this width I've ever owned that slay the pow and also have a versatile enough shape to also perform well in harder conditions and at the resort!

Versatile Pow and Corn Ski

Used this set up last season and enjoyed the ski. Wide shovel and appropriate sidecut make for a versatile ski in soft snow, while still maintaining gripping power on hardpack. I used this for several overnight trip in the Elk and Gore Range in Spring time and found the ski to perform well in a variety of conditions and have good touring weight. I would suggest the skins as well. The tip and tail features are amazing and the Pomoca/Dynafit partnership is impressive as far as utility and performance. The ski likes making turns, so great unless you are into high speed straight lining.

Great Lightweight Touring Ski

I spent last winter touring on this ski. I got to ski it in a variety of conditions. It's quick edge to edge, floats in powder, and it's super light for its size. This was my go-to ski for ski traverses and big days with lots of vert when weight matters. It can get a little chattery and squirrly on steep icy variable snow, but that is a common trade off for a lighter ski. I totally would recommend this to anyone looking for a good ski for lots of vert, big days, and skiing pow
