Sitting at the top of Elite's line of interactive trainers, the Direto XR-T giving us accurate power readings and is compatible with all of our favorite training apps. We're especially impressed with the massive flywheel that's capable of simulating gradients up to 24%, a welcome feature for virtual indoor riding. And if you're wondering what the difference is between the Direto XR and this Direto-XR-T, it is simply that the XR-T does not include a cassette.

Cheap Plastic Crippled It

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Trainer was great until it broke. I had this trainer and the large plastic pulley/flywheel cracked. Since it is out of warranty now Elite says that I can pay to ship it to Italy and pay them to fix and then pay them to ship it back (estimated $400). I can't replace the pulley on my own because it has to be calibrated by Elite and only Elite can do it. So now I am stuck with an expensive paperweight crippled by a $5 plastic part that costs over half the value of the trainer to replace. Be aware that they have 0 worldwide service and is something breaks you will pay a hefty price and something is going to break on it one day...

Elite Just Doesn’t Have It Together

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

This is the second one I’ve had. The first had a mind of its own and would apply resistance whenever it wanted to!! Elite had me return it to Competitive Cyclist and they sent me an upgrade but it does the same thing!!! Done with Elite, they just don’t have it together!!! I’d stay far away from them!!
