Why We Like The Garmin Forerunner 265 Watch

When we're hungry for the podium, we train and race with the Garmin Forerunner 265 Watch. As soon as we open our eyes in the morning, the AMOLED touchscreen display uses less battery power to give us a crisper, clearer view of our metrics, including the night's sleep quality, the day's weather, and our current training readiness. The battery lasts up to 20 hours in GPS GNSS mode for reliable tracking of our long runs and races, while the training status rundown, personalized daily suggested workouts, and preloaded cross-training exercises keep us on course toward a new personal best.

So much better than my Apple watch

Switched from the Apple Watch, my only complaint is I wish I would have done it sooner

Exceptional Running Watch!

This is my third garmin watch since 2001. Both wife and I purchased new 265 watches to use primarily for running, but also walks and hiking. We've been so impressed with the features, Garmin Connect data, and how this information is helping guide our training decisions.

GPS is awesome.

Replace my fitbit withe the forerunner 265. It is a fitbit and much more. I'm still figuring it out. The one thing I don't like is the treadmill use is not accurate.

Decent

Good Quality watch Good apps Hard to learn how to operate Overall I like it I'd like it to be equally fitness focused verses runner focused

Amoled screen is a wonderful improvement

I just moved from a Forerunner 945 to the Forerunner 265 and am very pleased with the results. It gives a little better insight into variables that coincide with activity, but the AMOLED screen is worth it alone.

Good upgrade!

I bought the 265 to upgrade from my Instinct. I like the features and it feels a lot more accurate than my previous Garmin. I also like that you can get some accessories to make it a bit more rugged.

Works well and keeps good records

I use it very often and it seems to work well. However, it is sometimes difficult to set.

Great running watch

I bought the Forerunner 265 to replace my Forerunner 620. The screen is a significant upgrade with bright color options and all around easier to read. There are a number of features I use to track performance and recovery including the Body Battery, Sleep Score and morning report. I use it with the HRM Pro because I find the heart rate monitor to be more accurate (versus the wrist monitor). The other feature that is good is the treadmill calibration. On days it is not great for an outdoor run the 265 tracks a result closer to what the treadmill shows for distance. Overall, extremely happy with the switch.

Everything I Could Want in a Running Watch

I have been using this watch for about a month after trading up from a FR 245 Music. I love the screen. I love the customizability. I love the data. The buttons are very easy to access during runs. The battery life is solid and I am just in the habit of plugging it in for 15 minutes each day while I sit at my desk (which is overkill). Back to the screen - it is super bright and easy to see. It's nice being able to use the touch screen features when I am not working out - something I am not used to being able to do. There are a million different ways to get it to show your data, I highly recommend going through the manual page by page to get the most out of it. It's great for sleep coaching, and I love that I have access to HRV now, something I did not have before. It uses Training Readiness to tell me if I should take on that hard workout I have scheduled or put it off another day. It also suggests workouts for me based on the races I have put on my Garmin Connect calendar. While it's a great running watch, it is truly multi-functional enough that I can use it on bike rides, swims, hikes, and a host of other sports including Triathlon (one day...). There might be better, more expensive running watches out there, but I feel like this one does 99% of what 99% of runners would ever need.
