NO

I purchased a lot of Hokas & this particular model is the only one that has ever hurt my feet.

Best shoe I have ever worn.

This shoe fits, feels, and wears throughout the day better than any shoe I have ever purchased. I suffer from neuropathy and this shoe has the arch support and cushion my feet require. The light weight is also a bonus.

Impressive shoe

First I am not sure why I saw so many reviews about people complaining twisting ankles...I haven't found anything about this shoe that would lead to an ankle injury. Second this is an impressing shoes traction is amazing, fits like a glove and is comfortable after hours on the foot. One of the best Hoka's I've ever purchased.

I must exchange these.

I have had 4 pairs of cliftons, 1 pair of mach ones, 1 pair of carbon x3's, 1 pair of speed goats and I just got these tectons. My feet don't even fit in em! The toe box is tiny, I've always worn 10's and never had an issue. Defiantly a smaller shoe

4 Stars NOT 5

I do love these shoes! However the inside lining wears out much faster than any other shoes I have owned. For the money cost Hoka as a company can improve in this area. It's not only the heal area it's the inside top edge around your ankles.

Love these trail runners

For less technical and less muddy runs these runners shine. Lugs not quite deep enough for gnarly stuff (I switch to Mafates or Speedgoats). Not fast enough to appreciate the carbon plates for speed. Do appreciate them for foot protection. Put a plate (any kind of plate) in a Mafate and it would be the perfect trail runner. Give these runners a chance to break in (10 or so miles). Just ran a 25k in them with no foot issues. Not sold on using them in Ultra distance races (yet).

A warning

Who writes a review for a show they've never worn? I'm writing because I wanted to continue the conversation and possibly bring to Hoka's attention a significant issue. I bought and wore the original Tecton X. I LOVED the shoe. It was exactly as advertised and lived up to its promises. Then the ankle rolls started... These were also my first Hoka's so I had no way of contrasting with their other shoes. It became such a problem that I had to quit using them on trail runs, and relegate them as a road shoe, in which they have performed admirably. The time is getting close for me to purchase a new pair of trail running shoes and I wanted badly to believe the problem had been resolved. But based on what I've seen here in the comment section, that is apparently not the case. No idea what could be causing the issue, but I assure you, if you're considering these shoes, there is one. All I know definitively, is that it's not isolated to this second generation.

Love these trail runners

For less technical running with good traction these runners shine. Do not have the grip of the Speedgoats or Mafates. But they do have carbon plates. I am not fast but I like the plates for foot protection. The perfect Hoka would be a Mafate/Speedgoat with carbon (any) plates. Still love these shoes. Have big (size 14) feet. These shoes break in pretty quick. Do make me feel fast and have set several PR's in them.

Great fit

One of the small things, but very important to me, is that the shoelaces do not come untied. I don't have to double tie them. So nice overall, they have a great fit in the rock plate works perfectly on a technical trail.
