Love Non-Stop Maintenance?

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Hope brake calipers differ from others in several ways, not the least of which is four pistons. I am not a brake expert, but one thing I can tell you after three years of Hope brake calipers being on my bike is that they have to be fully serviced constantly. I have yet to see them go out of alignment in a way that only requires the usual re-centering. When they go out, it's due to the pistons. They also DO NOT live up to the compatibility claims, sorry to say. At all. My local bike shop replaced the rotor, thinking that might be the problem causing the mis-alignment, but that didn't work. The same awful squeal was a constant with these, no matter how broken in the pads became. Speaking of pads, do you also love having brakes that no bike shop carries pads for? Then these are for you. You have to order them from ebay, of all places, which means when you need them you're basically waiting for over a week every time. But hey, if you just can't get enough of maintaining your brake calipers, go for it.
