Not as “Premium” as advertised

While Loon describes this as a “Premium Tying Tool Collection” on the front of the case, I would tend to disagree. For the price of this kit, I was disappointed and really expected more. Upon opening, tools are wedged so deeply into the hard foam liner, they need to be pried out to use them. The case is fine for storage but it isn’t something to work out of at a bench. Scissors seem functional but squeak horribly every time they are opened. The dubbing clip was rough to open because of the surface rust. The hair stacker tool is not finished on the inside (the important part ) and the hinge, while functional, is a sloppy wiggly mess. The bobbin holder sits well in the hand but lacks any glass , ceramic or flare on the entrance/exit points like most premium examples do. Paint/powder coat is unevenly applied, thin in some areas with sloppy run over on others. I’m sure all of these items function at a basic level. Nothing feels like it will fall apart with average use. But this kit does not meet any level of advertised “premium” quality and certainly not in line with the premium price tag. You are paying for the “ergo” handles and little else. It has potential if Loon didn’t cut corners in manufacturing. If these were garage tools, I’d place them in line with those from Harbor Freight— functional and gets job done but nothing fancy. I am debating sending this one back and selecting tools individually.
