Nice Hiking Peel Off Layer for Cold Starts

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have tried it on, worn it around a bit, but not hiked in it yet. That said, it provides more warmth than I expected with the mesh layer, and light weight. I think it will be a nice hiking addition here in AZ as a peel off layer after cool morning starts. I hike almost every day.

Great for Spring/Fall Mountain Biking

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pullover worked well for Fall mountain bike rides. Good breathability while also retaining heat, a good balance. Would recommend.

Tech sweatshirt without the sweat

These are highly underrated for how warm and breathable they are. Light and packs significantly smaller than a fleece of the same warmth. Size was spot on.

Interesting Item & Backcountry's Shippin

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it
Size Bought:
XL
Height:
6' 1"
Weight:
225

First - the shirt is small for it's stated size. It's at least one size smaller than labeled - so an XL is a L. The item seems to be well made. That said, the item itself is fundamentally unusual. It's definitely not a sweatshirt but it looks like one, but I wouldn't wear it sitting around the house. It's definitely not something I'd wear while working out. It's definitely not a wind breaker but it does have a shell that seems like it would cut a mild breeze. I have no idea what octo-yarn is. A Swiss invention to use a cool term like octo-yarn? "Does your fondue pot have octo-yarn heat protection?" 🤷 The item is like nothing I've ever seen, and so it's pretty cool. However, I haven't worn it on the trail because it didn't fit, but I have an XXL on the way. I'll update this review if that item fits. Now to Backcountry... I'm a bit mystified why I have to pay $6.99 to return the item. That's pretty low class. I bought a pair of shoes from you that did not fit. There was no charge to send those back when they didn't fit. I buy a lot of outdoor gear off the internet. I can't remember having to pay to return an item. If the sizing is off, you should warn your buyers. If you don't warn your buyers, that should be on you. Plus, sometimes things just don't fit, right? It's the cost of doing business. It should not be my cost of having done business with you.

Tech sweatshirt that is good for varying temps

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an interesting piece. Light and way warmer than it should be for how it feels. The breathability is great and it blocks wind well. It’s like having a tech sweatshirt as there is a layer of insulation, but you can work out without getting overheated.

Alt HB

Solid piece for staying warm while working out in subfreezing weather. Keeps the chill out but breathes well enough to not overheat
