As its name suggests, the Minus 33 Men's Adirondack Vest is a toasty accomplice for escaping the city for the untamed wilderness and jagged peaks of remote upstate locales. It's ideal for ambitious day hikes and long days at the crag when you'll need something that's both relatively lightweight and deceivingly warm to toss over your long-sleeve base layer. Since it's designed as a midweight fleece vest, you'll find it's great for fast-moving activities where uninhibited motion is crucial, also stuffing into a pack without taking up as much room as a full-fledged jacket.

Midweight merino wool construction (230g/m² for the gear-savvy crowd, to be exact) maintains warmth through cool to downright freezing conditions, so long as you layer properly underneath, seeing it's lacking long sleeves. Merino wool is vastly superior to the scratchy wool you grew up wearing as a kid, seeing it's made with fine (18.5 micron diameter in this case) fibers that significantly reduce the chance of wearing-related irritation. Merino's also naturally resistant to funky odor build up and great at managing moisture, preventing you from becoming cold and damp after sweating outdoors.
