Why We Like The Compressor Pant

We find the Mountain Hardwear Compressor Pants to be ideal for cold tent-bound spells and acclimatization days in base camp, and can be worn when we're on the move or while belaying as well. These Thermal.Q-insulated pants protect your legs from the harsh cold of high-altitude peaks, and they pack down easily. Full side zippers make it easy to get in and out of them with boots on, and the reinforced seat and knees boost durability.

Very warm for cold adventures

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Very warm, easy on and off during transitions for belays. Second season with these pants and they served me well during the winter season. I use them on cold belays and even early morning approaches. I like how I can put them on easily over whatever I’m wearing. Can be a bit awkward to belay when they are over harness, I just leave them a bit undone to expose my belay loop but would definitely recommend them as they save me on cold belays!!

Mens compressor pants.

Need a better pull string for waist, will not tighten enough, even with the hook and loop tabs on sides.I used a toogle but it still will not hold, may have to tie a knot, not unless i can come up with a better idea? Good addition to pants a fly zipper as shown. Great pants except waist string, so will give it a 4 star.

Summit pants for Aconcagua

Bought these for an Aconcagua climb. They were awesome. Layer them over the Chockstone Alpine pants, over a double base layer. Was never cold in temps below zero. These were great every night from basecamp up.

Best cold weather layer ever

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Size Bought:
Medium

I've had the chance to try these out this week in 30-40 below wind chills, and I was shocked! My legs were perfectly warm. I love the fit, just like regular pants but easy to wear over boots. I am able to put my hiking overpants right over the top. I have great insulated snow pants, but these are warmer and much more comfortable. They fit true to size. I'm 6ft with a 31 waist, and the medium fits perfectly. Highly recommended!

Great belay pant, but a little loose fitting

Really happy the the construction and features of the pants. Warmth is excellent, whether for standing still at belays or snowshoeing in -30 Celsius. The fit however is quite baggy (I bought a medium and I wear size 32 pants), which makes it easier to fit overtop of your ice climbing shell/harness, but outside of that circumstance there can be a lot of dead space around your legs if you just have base layer/fleece pants underneath.

Please make womens!

Heard great things about this pant, I know a lot of my female friends also want to purchase. XS is still too big for me unfortunately.

Awesome pants.

Still the best. Bought for some light mountaineering in Nepal. Have become my favorite trekking insulated pants also. Love them. I’m 6’1 and medium regular is perfect for me

They’re long but I still dig them :-)

Feature rich puffer pant, full-zips are a must, Velcro cuffs, reinforced knees and butt. They are pretty dang light too. Great pack stash layer for cool downs. The only thing I wish I would have been able to buy the “short” version (while they had them) I am 5’9” 160 and a medium fits me really well albeit way long in the legs. I can’t even imagine a tall skinny dude(ette) buying the long version! They’d have to be 7’.
