OK, but a bit disappointing

This isn't a bad tent for the price, but I was overall a bit disappointed. It comes with six plain skewer stakes; you will need 12 to pitch it properly. It's not possible to set it up fly-first, which is what you will want to do if it's raining. There are attachments for four guys, one on each corner, but Mountain Hardware provide only two pieces of cord. Similarly, the stake-out points at the ends of the tent have no cord attached: provide your own. I think that you really need those points to be staked out to create some space between the inner tent and the fly. There are only two small storage pockets inside, one at each end (plus a lighting pocket at the peak). There are good points. Some people complain about headroom, but for this 5'2" guy, that's not an issue. I like the fact that it's fully symmetrical, so there is no fussing about what goes where. The plastic carabiner that attaches the inner tent to the pole crossing is nice—simple and effective. The problems that I listed above could be fixed — put grommets on the footprint corners to allow the fly to be set up without the inner tent, add some cordage, buy decent stakes ... but I decided that there are better tents out there for the price.

Nice all around tent.
Good build quality, simple pitch, not overly heavy for backpacking with two people splitting it up. Not a surplus of storage but you might add a gear loft if you wanted that. On the weight issue it weighs 2 oz. more than a Hilleberg Soulo I used to have -- and they're 1P, 4 season tents. I'm pleased with my Meridian 2, have recommended them and yes, would buy again.

Easy to put up, and didn't let me down
Bought this as an additional tent for our early 2000s MH 2 person tent. This tent did not disappoint. It rained the off and on the entire weekend but not one drop of water ended up inside. I have found these tents to be extremely easy to put up, we got to the campsite after dark and with only two poles needed to have it upright, I was ready to go in about 7 minutes (likely only because the ground was hard and it took a minute to get the stakes in!). The interior pockets were in convenient and intuitive places, no snags in the zipper and the materials are high quality. My Pops loved MH gear for his long haul bicycle trips, and I can see why. We have had great experiences with this gear!

Solid quality, can't wait to show it off!
Blown away by the quality. Tried buying a different well-known brand, found it to be poor quality and returned it. Very glad I found the Meridian 2!! - Top quality materials; thick material everywhere, the zippers are large and heavy duty, everything about it feels like it's made to last, which is hard to find these days!! - Doesn't have seams around the floor of the tent- those areas are solid - The other brand of tent I bought smelled like a China chemical factory. The Meridian 2 is made in the Philippines and smells like...A TENT. Thank goodness! - I like that the sides of the tent are screen almost all the way to the bottom, so you can lay in the tent and watch the sunrise. Most other designs these days have solid sides halfway up for privacy, but you lose that ability to lay there and look out - Thoughtful little details; the sides are solid just where the pockets are, so you're not snagging the screen material when you put your keys in the pocket - nice little stuff somebody thought of - I cannot wait to try this in a thunderstorm!! Very confident in the quality!!

it's worth it
refreshing attention to details I didn't know a tent required. Saddened to see that they didn't provide enough guide lines and stakes for a full setup. overall worth the money. I'm excited to put it through it's paces.

Excellent value
Excellent value. Not quite perfect but I’m still rating it 5 stars. On my first trip it was tested by a 4” rain together with hail and high winds. The inside stayed dry and the tent suffered no damage. That rates 5 stars. The tent has some minor improvements over an older model that I have used for years. I liked the old one so I bought another one. I think there are some better tents made but not at this price.

Just Right!
I've been going to the BWCA for 60 years and have used a lot of tents in that time. I just got back from another trip and have nothing but praise for this tent. Packs small sets up easily, has lots of well-thought-out features. So far, my favorite tent, ever!
