Meh…

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Size Bought:
S/reg

The gore Tex did as advertised. The pockets and weight are as is. However the durability quite lacks. After 3 days in the AK range I have holes in the bibs already. The fit is relaxed which I quite enjoy. Very nice bibs but for the price they are quite expensive. I do wish the durability was better even if it warrants another 100g or so. If I was ultralight I wouldn’t have bought these pants in the first place. In my opinion making these bibs heavier but making them more durable would be the best way to go. If ultra light was the intention of these bibs, why are there 6 pockets? Maybe that’s just the corporate American way these days….

Great for backcountry touring

Avid Splitboarder, I bought these both for backcountry touring, as well as for work in the bush where I would be snowshoeing through deep powder at -30c. After a few weeks of use, I can say they are hard wearing, warm, and the extra pockets are a huge help. I got the XL regular inseam, I'm 5'10 and 205lbs with a muscular build. I wanted the extra room, so i can put on extra puffy layers if it's cold enough. Very happy with these pants!

I miss features found on older bibs.

I finally wore out my old MH bibs but liked them enough to try the new ones out. While they are nice and the extra pockets are well thought out I'm left missing features that my old ones had. Not having full length zips on the legs is one of them. While these have zips for the legs it's limited to mid thigh and above. Working hard on the skin track I miss this when I am getting hot. Not having the ability to zip down to my boots and unbutton the boot snow gaiter is annoying. The full diameter elastic certainly seals better but it's a pain the butt to get them over my snowboard boots when they are loosened for the skin track. It helps make my transition from uphill to down hill more cumbersome and it's impossible to stretch the boot gaiters over my boots with mittens. The chest comes up higher on these bibs than my old ones. As a result it's putting the hard plastic buckle for the suspenders right on my clavicle. It is the in the perfect position for my avy pack shoulder harnesses to grind it right into my clavicle bone. I for the life of me can't figure out what the elastic bands are for inside of the pockets. What do they do? While the fabric is good it is loud and crinkles. I guess that really doesn't matter but it's hard not to notice on the skin track. Maybe these bibs are geared towards the resort and not touring?

Viv gore Tex bib

Seems to be very well made. Bad winter so haven’t tried it out in powder yet but I expect it will be very dry, good attention to detail throughout the bibs in terms of construction. I’m 6’0 tall and a pretty thick build 220 lbs so I went with 32” inseam (perfect) and an XL fit as I was worried large might be a bit tight. I do wear XL jackets. In hindsight XL is maybe a bit larger than I needed but with the adjustable waist it tightens down nicely and still fits fine under my jacket. Happy with the purchase.

Not what I was hoping for

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it
Size Bought:
XXL
Height:
6' 2"
Weight:
260

I bought these when they went down to 50% off, as I've been searching for a new pair of pants to replace my 15 year old Mountain Hardwear pants that I absolutely love...but...my belly has expanded and they're tight to the point that I had to have a seamstress let the waist out a bit. To be completely honest, I didn't like these at all, and I'm talking as of the second I took them out of the package. Material is the very loud, irritating Gore-Tex that's "hard" to the touch, and even has a slightly shiny look. Fit was terrible for me. I'm still wearing my old XL pants, as noted above. These new ones were XXL, and they were tighter than the old XL's. Waist was uncomfortably tight, but the worst area of fit was the upper chest. I am rather large in the chest and waist, but XXL shirts and jackets fit me just fine. Now, I'll be 100% honest here and tell you I haven't worn bibs in over 35 years, but I'm not opposed to them. These things were just downright uncomfortable and I didn't like the material look or feel. They were returned the same day they arrived.

Disappointed in leg length

Waterproofing and pockets are great, but the leg length seems short. Particularly frustrating is the inner cuff length, it seems to be made too short, barely covers the booster strap on ski boots, limits knee flex and the metal clip digs in. Would be good if the longer leg length was available. I'm 180cm and size Large is baggy/long on my body and short on the legs.

Lots of features, high quality, high price tag

Solid bib. Has all the features you could ask for. I’m 5ft10 155lb and went with the medium. Wore a down jacket underneath and the fit was just right. It’s a little on the expensive side, but I took it out 3 days skiing so far and it’s the best performing bib I’ve owned. If it holds up durability wise it is well worth the price.

Great set of bibs

Great set of bibs. lots of pockets, good fit, and comfortable to ski in. I’m 5’ 10” 175 athletic build and bought a large, the fit is perfect with room for plenty of layers. These bibs are just a shell and are very thin, so plan on needing layers underneath.

Using in UT at snowbird / LCC - so far so good

Happy with these bibs so far the fit and cut is good. Gore Tex pro is better than the rest. Only feedback is wish the internal gaiters were slightly longer esp in size XL over big boots
