Best travel pack
London, France, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Costa Rica. Best pack ever made. Super light weight. Just enough padding without overdoing it. My sunburned shoulders appreciated it. Compartments perfect size to hold passports and small wallets. Side pouch holds large water bottle and you can sinch it tighter for smaller bottle's. Clips were there should be. Zippers are great quality. Material dries fast. Washes great. Worth every single penny. We also traveled with a similar size Patagonia.. can’t even compare the two. This backpack is a million times better.

Uncomfortable sternum strap
I've been wanting a Mystery Ranch pack for years & I was so excited to try this cool self-stuffing day pack. The quality is great, but the sternum strap is located too high for my frame (6' male 190 lbs) and it rubs against my lower neck, which is quite uncomfortable when hiking. Additionally, I'm not a fan of the water port only being located on the left. I ended up giving the pack to my wife who likes it okay. I wanted to like this pack so bad :(

Very happy
This is NOT a packable backpack. By that I mean it is too big to be considered that. This is actually good, very good in fact. The quality of materials and construction make it a bit big. Also returning it to it's "pack" would be difficult and eventually probably would damage the pack. It looks great, well thought out and constructed. The size seems just right and the shoulder straps should be fine. I plan to leave it flat in my travel stuff or just stuff it.

Great for what it is!
Bought the In and Out 22 during the Black Friday Sale, happened to receive a link to it in an email, I have no idea where it is on the site. They definitely need to market this one more. I'm so glad I got that email because this bag checks a lot of boxes for me that other bags don't. First off, it's the most packable bag I've ever owned, it stuffs into its own pocket when space is at a premium. But because of that, there is no padding, support, or frame, which for me is okay for shorter hikes or walks around town with the kids. I've carried groceries home in it, so it's already saved me 10 cents! It's the only grocery bag I can actually remember... Also did a 5 mile hike in it carrying a nalgene, headlamp, gloves, extra layers, bag of gorp, stuff for the dog, and had room to spare. I had to place items intentionally for that long since, again, there is no padding or support, but it did great. Will also be my concert bag now since it is primarily just the one big opening. I think it will also be my summit bag but need to get more miles on it first. Love the water bottle pocket on the side and the front shove it pocket, I think those pockets should be mandatory on all bags. Also loaded with cinch straps and daisy chains for more hauling capability. I suppose my only complaint is the buckles for the top lid are very small and kind of hard to open with gloves on, but I understand why they are that size for packability. Also won't be using it to commute with laptop/tablet as there is no padding. Like I said, this bag is great for what it is, and I'm excited to find more excuses to use it.

Perfect Day Pack
Many of the adventure trips that I lead entail a 12-15 mile hike to a pack drop. I got the IN and OUT 22 for this purpose, and it worked perfectly. Very sturdy day pack and spacious for all the gear that I need for a long day getting 8 to 10 people up the mountain. The way it packs down into its external pocket enables me to put it in my backpack for the rest of the trip, as well as take it out for summits and day hikes to alpine lakes. This is the best day pack that I have ever had. I highly recommend it to all my participants.

Nice and light
I bought this bag to take to Europe and it did a great job. The bag is nice and light and I love how it packs away in it's own front pocket. I wish the clips that keep the top flap down were bigger but I understand that would ad weight and bulk. The front pocket is just big enough to hold a thin paper back book and not much else. Another nit-picky point is my empty Smartwater bottle gets pushed up and wants to fall out of the side pocket.

In and Out 22 A Lightweight and Versatile Backpak
In and Out 22 is an excellent backpack that perfectly suits my needs. After comparing it to the Hyperlight Mountain Gear Elevate 22, I decided to return the Elevate 22 and keep the In and Out 22. This backpack is lightweight, versatile, and offers great compartmentalization and features. With the added benefit of a lifetime warranty, Mystery Ranch has truly delivered a reliable companion for outdoor adventures. Thank you, Mystery Ranch, for providing a reliable and functional backpack that meets the needs of outdoor enthusiasts everywhere.

Great product
This will go inside of my Bridger backpack, when doing multiple nights where base camp stays the same. I'll use it for day hikes. Not as compact as I hoped, but has a lot more features than I expected too. It's overbuilt like all MR products...which is good. I loaded 15 pounds in it and took it for a day hike. Worked out great !

Everything you need/Nothing you don't
This is a fabulous travel bag! It stuffs into its own satchel into an impossibly small size. Once expanded, it's the perfect day pack and has plenty of pockets and smart storage solutions for a day on the trail.

Hi - both this bag and the Coulee I've been looking at only come in the Hummus color (if you don't want blue/red/black), which I am not a fan of. Curious if there are any plans to add other neutral tones like you use in other packs? Thanks!
