Why We Like The Pinnacle 4L Hydration Vest
We strap on the Pinnacle 4L Hydration Vest to ensure our muscles keep getting the oxygen and fuel they need to make serious elevation gains during our Pulpit Rock training run. We huff, "I think I can, I think I can," as we chug toward the summit with our excess heat rising out of the tapered, chimney-wicking back panel, keeping us cool, while the stretchy fabric and adjustable sternum straps give us a no-bounce fit to make our grueling miles as comfortable as possible.

Good enough hydro vest
It took almost 3 weeks from purchase to arrive. In which I missed the widow for using it for my race. I ran 15 miles in it for a long run last weekend, I did feel bouncy/unsecure especially after drinking the water in the bladders. I have a similar pack from another brand, I was hoping this would be an upgrade but unfortunately not.

Yes- you can put a 2L pouch in the back (sold separately). So, with 2L in the back and 2 x 600ml in the front, this light little slip of fabric can pretty comfortably hold 3.2L plus nutrition, your phone, TP and other essential stuff. The bite vales are designed really well- you get a really high fluid flow through them and they seal perfectly. The front bottles have a thin plastic firm strip embedded in one side- to make the otherwise flexible bottles easier to slip into the pockets. However- after 20mi, that firm side definitely did start to dig into my lower ribs. So I turned the bottles around. There’s zippered pocket on the inside of the front water bottles- big enough for a phone- but having a hard phone in that location would get uncomfortable. Instead - I shoved my phone in either of the lower rear back pockets that are easy to reach. No matter how perfect and sorted out each of these products is- none are ever perfect. Anyway- this will make a great fast pack for my upcoming ultras. Nathan does a great job with this one.

Really tight…weird
I have the Nathan pinnacle in the light blue 12L version. I got the exact same size so I clipped the tags off and went to take this for a run. Wow it’s so much tighter which really confuses me. They are both pinnacle packs and the size chart looks the same to me. This one I have at its loosest adjustment while the other one I can pull it halfway with a full bladder. Disappointed in this one. It honestly feels like it’s a size down and labeled incorrectly.

Solid Vest
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this vest now for a couple years and have taken it everywhere. OCR, many ultras, snow, extreme heat you name it. At this point its still holding up even after several cycles the the washer. My only critique would be the magnetic attachment for the hose to the vets. I lost it with in the first couple weeks would like to see that be permanently attached. Favorite Features - Water resistant zip pockets Easy access side pockets Allows you to carry more than enough hydration than you'll need

Great purchase, highly recommend.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love this hydration pack. I have only used a few different brands from when I was in the military that would always bounce, the straps would come loose, the packs would be ill fitting etc. I am training for a 50 miler next month and decided to pull the trigger. I chose the pinnacle 4L because it had some good reviews and obviously I trust the brand. That being said it outperformed my expectations. Smooth, fitting, comfortable, no bounce, straps stay tight as you put them. Absolutely recommend!

Hydration Vest
Vest works well. I am in between S and M. I ordered a small. My only recommendation would be to increase the strap length to provide more flexibility with fitting. The bottom strap is extended all the way out and works but it would be nice to have more length. Thank you.

Great fit, works well on cold and hot days
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the third vest I've had, and will be the only one I buy going forward. The bottles fit perfectly, there is the perfect amount of space with no space that lets anything bounce around when it's in there. The phone pocket is the best working phone pocket I've seen since it doesn't get in the way of the bottles at all. Haven't tried it with a bladder yet though since the bottles are enough.

Great but watch the sizing

Great vest for this small volume. Pockets galore and I love the slightly larger-than-typical flasks that come with it. But I'm not sure the sizing chart that I saw was accurate. My chest measured at 38" when I was relaxed, 39" during a deep breath. This chest size supposedly put me right between a M and a L. I had read something somewhere that said choose the smaller size if you're in between two sizes, so I went with the M. I wish I would have gone with the S because I have everything strapped down as far as it will go and it's still just a hair too loose.

Great for long runs
Great product. The two 20oz bottles hold enough water for my long runs. Fits great and not a lot of noise when running.
