Why We Like The Lofoten GORE-TEX Jacket
The Lofoten GORE-TEX Jacket proves itself as the highest standard in weatherproof outerwear for powder hounds who are out all day long. Its GORE-TEX IN-Knit membrane offers dependable protection in the white room, whether we're riding resort or backcountry. Its thin 3-layer construction packs small and weighs less than conventional ski jackets, and the underarm zips allow plenty of ventilation when we're skinning under heavy snowfall. Plus, there are plenty of adjustment points to batten down the hatches when it really starts dumping.

Lots of little things that add up that make me think this was a sample or first year design. I should have returned this but made the mistake of tossing all the tags and waiting too long. The worst thing about the design is the collar. When zipped up all the way it is too tight against the face and the collar curves inwards to make matters worse. It also comes to a point at the zipper and pokes the underside of your nose. The only way I can wear it is with the zipper opened down by the neck. The zipper is also on the left hand side. Not a deal breaker but awkward for 90% of the population that are right handed and used to a right handed zipper. The inside pocket is so small that it is basically worthless other than for a goggle wipe or lip balm. Definitely can't fit a phone or anything else that you might be trying to keep warm against your body. Just put a pass pocket on the forearm like most manufacturers have figured out years ago. We are in the age of RFID. The sleeves are too long and awkwardly assymetrical. They don't work too well with over the cuff gloves without bunching up. I'm guessing they sized a large for someone who is 6'4" 150 lbs. Pros: Gore Tex which is the main reason why this jacket cost over $500.

Bought this as a shell to layer with for skiing. Put some miles on it this season and it?s a really well thought out jacket. Used a gearhead recommendation for the fit as I wanted something not boxy
