Why We Like The Sportsman 106 Kayak

We sneak up on fish quickly and quietly with the Sportsman 106 Kayak from Old Town Kayaks. We love that this compact kayak features a smooth, pontoon-style hull that slices through water and is nimble to maneuver, all while scaling in light enough to toss on top of your car. This 10-foot 6-inch ride features a wide, open cockpit that's impressively stable and has plenty of space to organize all of your tackle, while a DoubleU Hull glides nearly silently through the water so you can approach fish without alerting them. Plus, the two tracks on its forward hull offer easy mounting for accessories.

100% happy

I’ve had it three years. Looking forward to the fourth season on the water with it 100% happy.

Excellent fishing kayak, easy to upgrade/modify!

I bought the paddle version two years ago and added a fishfinder under the front mid hole, where there is a dedicated space and later, added a string motor and foot pedals for steering. Very easy to modify and paddle. I can get 5 mph on my motor and it is very stable when standing.

Couldn't be happier

I bought this yak a couple of months ago and have been all over Ontario since. I had high expectations when I picked it up and it has exceeded them in every which way. I'm 6' 1" 260 and comfortably fish while standing which is a tall order for a 10'6" kayak. Extra large rear tank well allows me to carry a crate, tackle bag, and cart whole I'm on the water, and the front hatch is large enough to fit most anything you'll need for the day. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would
