Good, But ...

I use these low gaiters primary for day hikes. They work well with the exception of the straps that wrap around the bottom of your shoe/boot. I have repaired (re-sowing) or had them repaired several (more than 4) times.

great 3-season gaiter for light hikers/sneakers!

I really like the fabric and versatility of this gaiter. however, the front hooking mechanism is plastic and quite small that it will not fit on the metal ring that comes on my hiking books especially for connecting to gaiters. the gaiter hook will certainly connect to the shoelace itself but would be more versatile if the hook was just a millimeter wider..

Worth the money

Multiple days desert hiking kept debris out of our boots. Also nice to have the extra layer of protection brushing up against the cacti! Easy on & off, very glad we made the purchase.

Ferrosi Thru Gaiters

We have 3 pair of these in the family. Mine broke on second try and I lost pieces of attachments. The other 2 pair in family work great! Purchase made July 15/23.I contacted Outdoor Research July 27/23 and they have NOT responded as yet......

Not made for the CO Rockies

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The under-shoe strap was severed in half after the first use. Time to file a warranty claim.

Lasted Two Whole Days!

These may be a cute accessory for a shopping trip and a latte but they are clearly not up to actual hiking. The second day I had them on the elastic thread (yes - it is THREAD) holding the entire thing together broke. I would have repaired them but the hook for the shoelace was lost in the vegetation. They are now garbage - actually they were quite clearly garbage to begin with - unfortunately garbage that someone paid decent money for (was a gift) I strongly suggest OR test stuff like this before selling it for a purpose it is not at all suited for. You do know that trails are not sidewalks, right? I mean - there are sticks that get caught in things like ELASTIC THREAD and can break it.

I would buy these again, and have!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use the heck out of these things. They are very light weight, and as such can be a bit fragile. But mine have held up well. Have tweaked them a bit, as the strap that goes under the boot have both broken. But again, because I use the heck out of them. Replaced with p-cord, and they work fine. I like the lightweighness of these, heavier ones make my ankles react, heat rash. These do not. I have 3 pair now!

Excellent with caveats

I bought these to use over my trail runners and approach shoes. They are light, comfortable and keep things out of my shoes very nicely on trips where a full gaiter is too much. I do like them, but have had some challenges and issues. Tips: first, remember to put the gaiter on before your shoes! I find it helpful to unhook one side of the foot strap, then hook the foot strap on fully over the shoe. Otherwise you risk popping the foot strap if you try to just slide it over the shoe without unhooking. Secondly, the lace hook doesn't work well with all my laces. Flat shoelaces like my Altras, or speed laces like my Salomons they work fine, the round laces like on my La Sportiva approach shoes (Tx3/Tx4) it is very difficult to get the hook on and off the shoelace. On a more rugged trip I took a tumble, tearing the foot strap off. I didn't notice until a little further along and wasn't able to find it. This also pulled the elastic cording out of the stitching and the lace hook was gone. I was able to very easily re-route the elastic back in and stitch it. I reinforced the stitching on the other gaiter, assuming it would also tear out. I bought new foot straps, but unfortunately OR does *not* make the lace hook available for purchase or to mail out as a warranty item. That's frustrating, as I had to make my own lace loop out of some velcro. A less crafty person would just be out the gaiters at this point.

Elastic bands break easily...But they stay up!

I really like these. Now that the trails abound with greenery, I have found I don't really like some of the overgrowth to touch my legs. I was excited to try out my new Ferrosi Thru Gaiters. But, just like my previous pair, the elastic cord that holds the band under the shoe broke on one side the first time I tried to put them on. But, since I wasn't trying to keep anything out this trip, I pressed on. I have big girl calves so I wasn't sure these would stay up. They did!! The one that worked, worked great. And the one that broke served it's purpose for the day. If I can get a pair that the elastic won't break, these would be awesome.

Great but don't last

I love them but after only one season and 17 4ks (a few backpacking trips) they are already much more worn out than I would hope. There is a hole in one of them. They also fit on the smaller side. I will probably buy another pair for the upcoming spring/summer/fall hiking season, however.
