A wire broke in one of the mitts resulting in it not working

The mitt that failed was subject to normal wear. The positive supply wire broke near about an inch in from the battery pouch. I attribute the failure to poor design or poor quality control.

Heated Mittens are Great!

I've previously owned two pair of OR Heated Gloves. With my condition, they provide the only way I've been able enjoy the outdoors in the Winter. The mittens do not confine my fingers; they provide extra room to wiggle my fingers and to share the warmth.

Finally, comfort for cold hands

These mitts are the real deal. I am a skier with cold hands who has tried multiple glove/mitt options, both heated and unheated. This is the first time I have found a pair that gives my hands absolute comfort in all temperatures. It takes a minute to get used to the stiff thumb (as other reviewers have correctly noted), but I am unbothered by this after a few minutes of skiing. If you have chronically cold hands, you should consider these mitts.

Strange fit yet warm and dry

They are warm and dry which I love... They are not sized well - other reviews said that the thumbs are small - and they are VERY difficult to insert your hands for this reason. The rest of the hand area is too long (by 1") for the size they recommend (size 7=small) but I'm afraid if I sized down I wouldn't be able to get my thumb in at all. I would like to see them cut a new template. The battery that comes with them takes overnight to fully charge whereas most of my other power garments are fully charged in 2-3 hours.

Warm and Waterproof!

Wore these into the Rockies on a frozen lake, and when some ice broke through and I had to reach in to retrieve my snow show, I was wearing these mittens. Despite submersion, the gloves remained dry and warm enough I didn't even need to use the batteries.

I wouldn't buy this again because the sizing is way to tight

I bought these gloves back on 12/21/23 . I bought the mitt style thinking that there would be more room than the glove style which I also own from Outdoor Research. The XL size is so tight in the wrist area it's very uncomfortable. The material on the thumb is extremely small . The area on the fingers could be more loser but tolerable. I still have not wore them do to the uncomfortable fit .Outdoor Research makes great products , but they really need to fix their sizing . Way too small for a XL . I hope Outdoor Research will contact me . I'm very disappointed. Thanks Mike

Great Warm Mittens

These are great-looking, very warm mittens. I find myself not needing to use the heated function unless it's really cold. The thumb is rather tight anon them and the white leather discolors quickly if brushed against ice, but this really only knocks off about half a star for me. So 4.5/5, I'm really excited to have these.

Mountain Hiking (January)

Pros The Prevail Heated GORE-TEX Mitts were warm without the battery-powered heater during movement through rugged mountainous terrain. They did an exceptional job of protecting my hands from the wind (Temperatures below 20 Degrees Fahrenheit). The waterproofing technology is also fantastic; I had no issues with it during water procurement or snow collecting. Cons The Prevail Heated GORE-TEX Mitts have a built-in liner unsuitable for Mountain Hiking or Rescue. They are unusually tight around the thumbs, which is not common with mittens. Unfortunately, if your hands begin to sweat or you remove them and frost collects on your hand, they are nearly impossible to place back on. This can be catastrophic at elevation or if you do not have another warm glove. Additionally, the liner quickly gets twisted and out of sorts, so you cannot find the thumb hole. Battery life was roughly three hours, which may have been reduced due to the temperatures I was operating in. Recommendation: As an experienced Mountain Rescue Professional, I would not recommend purchasing these gloves for multi-day hikes or rescue operations. Unless you test them in a controlled environment and know that you can quickly get them on and the liner untwisted, you will risk developing a cold-weather injury. These gloves run small, so purchase at least one size larger than you usually would. Caveat: I would look for an alternative glove due to the sewn-in liner if you have large, meaty hands. I have very skinny fingers and struggle to fit them into a size large glove. This is more of a designer glove for individuals hanging out at a ski lodge or on the chair lift. I hope this helps! Safe travels and Enjoy the great outdoors.
