great hat, keeps me dry all day!
I work outside in all weather, so this hat is a big help to keep my head and glasses dry. I ordered the blue for my partner, and have had the yellow one for about a year now. Highly recommend!

Great on the AT
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- one size fits all
- Height:
- 5' 9"
- Weight:
- 200
For those who hike it, the AT is known as a wet trail. Now that's a good thing when it comes to water being prevalent for drinking. It also means you're likely to experience rain at some point and that's when this hat earns its keep. It works fine in the sun as well.

Works Just FIne!
I've worn this hat out in the rain a few times now and it works great. Stays on my head, too. Very happy to have it.

You Better Have Hair!
The inside liner of my rain hat disintegrated after six months of use so I brought it to the Outdoor Research store in Seattle. I was told that because I am bald, the oil from my head is causing the liner to fall apart and that I should WEAR A HAT under this hat. Seriously. No return or exchange allowed. Maybe it should carry a warning that bald people should not purchase.

A good rain cap
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wore this during a good rain. The cap kept my head dry and the long bill kept rain off my eyeglasses so I'm pleased with the product. I like the bright blue Cascade color too.

Great cap for big heads.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have worn Seattle Sombreros ever since the first generation of them hit the market. That line of hats are tough as nails. In fact I still have my first one from the late 1980s and it is still waterproof. This ball cap version looks just as durable and fits my big cranium with room to spare and believe me I have a hard time finding hats that are not too tight. OR has consistently made good gear and this cap measures up to the standard. The only problem with it is this; I do not think "one size fits all" will work for people with small heads. But other than that it is a good quality hat that is comfortable to wear even when it is hot.

Perfect for those Misty PNW runs
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great lower profile hat that fits me well and breathes enough, but can still repel some mist and light drizzle. Works great on those days when it's too warm for a beanie, but rain is still coming down. So basically half the year in the PNW.

works well so far
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I've used this hat on four rain hikes since getting it in the mail and so far it's worked well. The rain during our rain hikes was more like a deluge and I use the hat to keep rain off my glasses. It works well and keeps my glasses and head dry and mostly warm. I've noticed though, after several hours in the rain, though the inside of the hat seems dry, the strip that goes against the forehead and around the inside of the hat is wet and cold. Not sure if it's perspiration or rain; however, putting it back on and dealing with an immediate discomfort soon fades and the hat is comfortable again and doing its job well.
