Best skins I've used (so far)

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Based on 10 days of touring in widely variable conditions (0F-40F with new and old snow of many varieties). No use in true spring conditions yet. Glide: MUCH better glide than the BD or G3 skins I've used previously (many different kinds). Traction: nearly as good as G3 high traction. Better than any other "all around" skin I've used Glue: seems perfect so far, but time will tell. Definitely less sticky and easier to rip than G3 or BD, but no problems with slipping. Tail/tip connectors: no issues thus far. They feel a little less robust than other options (especially G3 which has been my favorite), but after 60 or 70 on/off cycles there haven't been any signs of failure. Packability: better than most. Much better than any with this much grip. Durability: don't know yet. If it proves to be a problem I'll addend the review. Downsides: They smell like cheap frat boy cologne. What's up with that? Also, I prefer the G3 trim tool, but Pomoca's is fine.

Great glide&glue, crap tip and tail

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Pomoca needs to take a simple lesson from BD and G3 to fix their tip and tail problem. Total junk tail slides off quickly when on up track. Tension the tip and the cheesy bar bends. But, I will modify the skin because I like the glue and glide. Will put a BD tail on and probably tip.

Bad rear clip

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Very disappointed with these skins. The tail clip is plastic, difficult to connect over back of my skis (Atomic Backcountry) and most importantly the clip does not hold the strap and skin in place and thus the skins slip off. Given lousy rear clip I?m really surprised these are so highly rated.

Great skins, with terrible rear clips

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

So, after a few outings, I have some feedback to share. So far, the skins themselves have been great, with one complaint I'll get to later. Pro's: Lightweight. Very packable. Very soft and supple. Easy low-stick glue, but despite the low-stick glue, we haven't had ANY problem with these sticking (or not sticking) to the ski's, and no residue left behind yet. Snow traction has also been good, with no complaints. Almost all wins! Con: Only one: the tail clip. It's pretty terrible. Not because it doesn't hold, but because it's very difficult to use. I have only been able to get the tail clip to "clip" bare-handed, or with very thin base-layer gloves. Not simple, not easy, and not good if it's 0F or below outside and windy. BRRR! Essentially, Pomoca released a "new and (not) improved" tail piece. I'll include a picture here, but what they did was shorten the lever that you would have used to "clip" the clip on the tail. Ideally, there's a small bar that extends past the clip. To engage the clip, you would press this small bar against the base of the tail, then pull (or push) and rotate the clip around the tail and it would slot onto the tail perfectly and easily. By shortening the lever, you can't really "lever" the clip around the tail any more. Now you have to stretch the tail, rotate the tiny clip, and slot it on to the tail almost entirely manually. You CAN lever it a LITTLE bit, but it requires a LOT of dexterity and precision as in not easy (thus the need for bare hands). You can TRY to do this easily by just pulling on the strap and pulling it around, but in my experience, this causes the clip to just slide up the strap (toward the skin), and doesn't work to actually clip. Now you have to manually move the clip back down the strap, then try again. My advice to Pomoca would be to either redesign this clip, or to extend the base-side lever and reinforce the entire clip with an aluminum sleeve to prevent the plastic cracking or breaking.

We all have different experiences with the same gear, but I am at a loss to understand those trashing this product. These are simply fantastic. OK, Let's get one niggle out of the way first. The tail clips COULD be designed better, and I did break both at the same time when i dropped my skis tail first onto the ice at the car. (i.e.: my fault) BUT........ The glue is just fine, never had any glopping or transfer, or any of the oddities others point out here. Adherence to the bases after multiple laps in cold weather also in line with any other skin I have used. Tip attachment also good, never had a problem. It's really the plush that makes these shine. Awesome grip meets really good glide. What other parameters are more important to a skin owner than these two?? To top it off excellent compactness when folded and light weight. Mic drop.... i will say I am pretty diligent about applying Nikwax skin treatment at least once a year so maybe this helps my overall experience. These rock, and if you don't like them i will give you your money back...(JK)

Disappointing

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I was hoping the reviews and recommendations for Pomoca were accurate, however after taking these on my first tour I am very disappointed. After going on my first tour with these they fell of three times in the first hour. Once due the tail clips loosing their riveted buckle placing. The other two times were just due to glue not adhering properly to the ski base, snow easily worked its way in and they just slid off. I actually had to end my tour short only after a few hours :( The tail clip design is also fairly frustrating to adjust and hard to clip into place. This was more frustrating in cold weather with a set of freezing hands. I consider this product to be defective and poorly designed, I am going to stick with my Black Diamond skins that have lasted 5+ years.

Great Grip, Glide, Glue and Durable

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Got my first set in early 2019 and now use only Pomoca skins. The glide after the first 1,000 meters or so of break-in is fantastic and the grip is excellent. The skins remain in place when applied and ripping them from the bases is effortless. Additionally, they pack down nicely, dry quickly and have proven to be very durable after many miles out and a few hundred thousand feet of ascent. The first pair was exposed to warm temps for an extended time and the glue glopped up. This was easily fixed with an iron and parchment paper and I have had no further issues with glue.

Don't believe the hype :(

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Expectations were high based upon the research I'd done as I picked out the "best" all-around skin for my new skis. I was sorely disappointed to find that the only way in which these have outperformed my old Black Diamond Ascension skins is in weight. They frequently loose traction on moderate slopes, leave behind glue residue on my bases in a variety of temperatures, frequently suffer from glomming issues (despite wax), and the quality of the toe attachment all but guaranties you'll be buying replacements from Pomoca within a single season. They're likely to end up in the trash at the end of the season because it wouldn't feel right to give them away to another unsuspecting soul! Also, I have not received any feedback from Pomoca regarding my quality concerns.

Pomocas for Life

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I heard great things about Pomoca skins prior to buying them but I had no idea how good they actually were when I purchased them. Now that I've had the chance to use them? holy smokes! I will only ever buy Pomoca skins in the future. These ones are on the heavier side but I don't have a crazy lightweight set up, so that isn't a problem for me. They don't pack down very compact, but that's a minor niggle. The grip and glide of these skins are phenomenal. And whatever magic Pomoca put into their glue gives them the perfect balance of stickiness without being too sticky. My only complaint would be the tip attachment is a little flimsy and regularly have to adjust it before putting the skins on/back on.
