    You do it all.

Of course, the prAna Stretch Zion Men's Short would prefer to spend the summer navigating slot canyons and working on bouldering problems, but like you, it'll also welcome some day-time hefeweizens along with lunch with friends in the city. Its four-way stretch fabric delivers mobility and quick-drying comfort to handle crowded sidewalks and bustling national parks alike, while abrasion-resistant nylon withstands the abuse the comes with long rocky scrambles and brushy approaches through the brambles. Then, the ventilated free range gusset brings an envious level of breathable comfort through hotter days, and the mesh pockets pockets offer lightweight storage for your maps, wallet, keys, and snacks.

    • Adventure-ready short built to accompany you in versatile comfort
    • Stretchy nylon fabric offers blend of flexibility and durability
    • Fabric wicks moisture to prevent being bogged down with sweat
    • Regular fit and inseam gusset keep your range of motion natural
    • Integrated belt locks down the fit just the way you like it
    • Cargo pockets provide ample storage for smaller essentials
    • Item #PRA00M1

    Best for years

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 36

These are the best and ONLY shorts I wear. Just read the rest of the reviews. 6'3" and 225lbs. 36 waist is true to size. I use them for going out, recreational activities and swim wear. I've used them to make boat sails. I've also used them as a makeshift net to catch trout when stranded in the Alaskan wilderness after my hangglider went down on my nonstop flight around the planet. Pretty solid shorts!

    Dad digs 'em

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

Got these for my dad and he loves them. Nice and stretchy for hiking and outdoor activity but still look dressy enough to wear golfing or to nicer warm weather events. I recommend to all dudes out there!

    My favorite pair, but....

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 32

Love everything about this pair. Fit, finish, comfortable, breathable. My favorite pair of shorts for EVERYTHING. One downside seems to be with the DWR finish. There appears to be none in the 3 pairs of shorts that I have purchased. I have the Zion stretch pants and there is a CLEAR different to how it beads water.

Do I have to wear anything else?

Have you ever worn the same shorts for 2 weeks in a row because you wanted to? Try them on and you will find that it might be the only short you own eventually. Climbing to casual and everything in between...Im almost positive that these shorts could bring about world peace......but at the very least a little peace in your world. They are seriously a must have if you hate shopping for shorts. Why? you can get every color and be done with it! Call me directly and let me help you with sizing!

    My everyday!

I intended on using these shorts occasionally but they are so light and comfortable that I use them every single day! The stretch is perfect and the fit is pretty good! Only small nit pick is that it feels like there should be more space in the crotch area (this is not a dirty joke). There is *something* about the fit that feels not quite right. Almost like they are on backwards. Can't quite figure it out but it's not a deal breaker.

    Great great great shorts!

These are some of the best ive had, and i go thru a lot of them trying to find what works for me.

Fit is perfect, quality very high. I have the same model in pants too.

    The Holy Shorts

If you're reading this review, it's already to late. You're going to be putting at least one pair of these shorts in your shopping cart. Yea, that's it, go on. Do it. Can't decide what color to get? Better get two. What's that, they're on sale? It would be a crime not to get at least 3 right?

I first got the pants version of these. My friends and I refer to them as "The Pants". Join The Pants party today.

Breathable, wallet size albeit weird side pocket, good stretch and crotch gusseting for all you high foot loving boulderers out there who want to show off your calves as well as your back muscles and beer belly (we can see that with your shirt on too you know, no need to be a show off).

I use these as my daily summer shorts, hiking shorts, climbing shorts, backpacking shorts, whatever shorts.
They don't seem to dry super fast, but generally when I've gotten them wet they've been completely soaked. They also do as swim trunks in a pinch.

Good job, you made it to the end. Now go buy some matching pants.

If there is a better material for outdoor activities, I haven't found it. Tough, stretchy, flexible and durable. Even after abuse it cleans up nice. Packs down well, great for travel.

    why no DWR?

I love the Zion line from Prana and am embarrassed to admit how many pairs of pants and shorts I own. That said, I am at a loss as to why the pants (including convertibles) are DWR but the shorts are not?!? Yes they dry super fast, but I'd have loved it if they were the same as the pants. Bummer. Oh and Prana stands by their stuff, so I still like them. You, too Backcountry!

    They're great!

I really like these shorts. I own 2 pairs and I switch between them on trips.
They hold up, stretch, stay clean, and have the right amount of pockets. The "cargo" pocket is not big and baggy but is still useful.
I think the belt is a nice feature and is more comfortable than actually wearing a lightweight belt or having your shorts fall down.

I'm not crazy about the length and I wish they were 10 in inseam - not holding that against them though. I do sometimes wear a 30-31.

    "I want all of them"

My family has been die hard converted to Prana so I got these for my brother. He absolutely loves them just as much as he loves the pants.

    The material is magical

They hold up well, look super sharp (I don't think the pictures do them justice) and are ridiculously comfortable.

In 100% honesty and seriousness, if you are looking for a camp/hike short look no further. These are amazing!

    color?
I ordered a pair in the indigo color and they look just like the blue ridge color from the photo. Are there two colors of blue, because mine are not indigo?

I love my size medium Zions, and they fit perfectly, but now they've gone to numerical sizing....do I want a 32 or 33 waist in the new regime?

I have the Prana Stretch Zion pants (love em) in small and they're still a little big, have to cinch the belt a little. I normally wear 30x30 pants, just wanted to know if the XS shorts would be TOO small. Any ideas?

Are any of the pockets zippered and if so, which ones? Is the belt removable?

The left side pocket is zippered (twice, actually, one facing up and one facing front - which is handy depending on if you are sitting or standing). The belt is not removable but it's very small and only shows in the front. Completely unobtrusive.

Can an iPhone 6 plus fit in the lower leg pocket?

Can someone help me figure out my size, please? I wear the Prana Axiom jean in size 34 waist and 34 inseam. Some folks say these run large and some say these Zion shorts run small...

Can someone help me out? Do I need a Medium or a Large?

    Thanks!!

Kurt. Another Kurt here. I wear the Axiom 34 x 34 and the Theorem 34 x34. I have two pair of the Zion shorts, and both are Large. Fit the same as the 34 x 34 jeans. Measured the waist band with a tape measure, and they were identical +/- 0.25".

Just received a pair in Medium (my waist measures 33in over my underwear) and they are clearly too big. I can fit 2-3 finger widths in between but I can make them fit with the nifty built in belt. Is it worth exchanging for the a Small? The sizing chart shows a two inch difference in the waist. If it matters the Prana Mojo Mediums I ordered fit me perfectly. Thanks!

I wear a 28-29 short/jean. Will the small fit me? It's SO hard finding climbing clothing for my size!

    Mrwp269247,

    I know your pain.

I too have problems not just with climbing clothing, but with basically all clothing, as my waist sits right at that 28-29in mark.

That being said, I would go with the XS, I think the S would still be a bit too large for your waist, and you would probably have issues with the fit, as well as making them stay on while on the wall.

I've included a size chart I found on prAna's website, and according to them, you want to take your waist measurement and subtract 2" from that to determine what "prAna size" to get.

I notice that BC doesn't have any of that size in stock currently, so I would recommend chatting with a gear rep to see if they can find out when they will be receiving more sizes of the XS, if you do decide to go that route.

    Good luck, hope this helps.

How true to sizing are these? I wear 31's in most shorts/pants. The sizing chart shows S to be 30" whereas M is 32-33". Obviously, I fall in between. Don't want too baggy but I don't want my range of motion restricted either. Any help would be appreciated.

I wear a size 38" or XL in Kuhl, Outdoor Research,Mountain Hardwear and Patagonia. I just bought a pair of these in XL and although they fit, they're tighter than all others I have. I'm going to exchange for an XXL or more likely O.R. Ferrosi shorts which fit perfectly at XL.

What is the color like on the charcoal? This site shows a black color, another site shows a lighter gray color. Thanks for any responses.
