Why We Like The Outpulse Mid GTX Hiking Boot

High energy, total water resistance, and all-terrain grip make the Outpulse Mid GTX Hiking Boot excellent on light hikes, no matter the conditions. A GORE-TEX membrane ensures comfort if we encounter rainy skies or a muddy path, and the Contagrip sole keeps us upright as the trail gets slippery.

Great show

Got these after returning the ultra4’s because the material jams into my toe joint when walking. These however were perfect right away. No break in. No pain. Laces are a little long but I just wrap them around the anchors 3 times and it makes it a secure fit for me. I got black on 12/23 but I don’t see it anymore because I referred a friend to these. Sure hope they’re not phasing these out.

Nice shoe with minor flaw

The shoe is comfortable and good looking. However, the laces don't go up high enough on the ankle and the result is the tongue is loose at the top and flops outward.

Does not last

I have had the trail running version of this (no longer on the website) for less than a year now and both shoes have tears in the fabric (in the same spot) with minimal use. The shoes are comfortable, but definitely not durable. I've had other pairs of Salomon before, so I am very disappointed with this purchase.

Very narrow and will not break in

I bought these shoes a month ago and have been trying everything to break them in. I have at least 5 different types of Salomon shoes and all have fit me fine, or easily stretched. I like the shoe but beware if you have wide feet.

Excellent!

Excellent! Lightweight, stable, breathable yet waterproof, protected toe, and incredibly comfortable! These are great lightweight boots!

I've had Saloman's in the past and wanted to give these a try. They were pretty comfortable out of the box just not the right shoe for me right now.

Comfortable fit with great grip

I bought these as a present for my son who now goes everywhere in them as he says they're very very comfortable. On a recent ski trip he found them to be very sure footed on snow and even ice.

So comfortable, but…

I love the way these feel. I’ll wear em on a trail where I'm not anticipating mud, and i love them for my everyday urban runabouts. But every time i pass by my reflection in a window, i can’t help but notice how goofy they can look from bunching up the bottom of my pant legs. Also, the eyelid things for the top two passes of the laces can catch on the lace of the opposite foot. I also see no need for such a thick insulated ankle. Other than that it’s a great shoe with plenty of bounce and support.

Good fit.

I normally get 9.5wide (speedcross) shoes but usually neutral can work and these do. Right out the box they feel comfortable with nice padding around the ankle. Started walking and the material around the toe joints is flexible without pressure spots from bending. I would like more aggressive laces and anchors but these are walk around winter shoes for me anyways since the overall appearance is less “Salomon” and more casual neutral.

Light weight Gortex trail shoe

Very happy with purchase. Fit is typical Salomon so if you’ve worn S before sizing is perfect. Super light weight trail shoe and doubles as urban winter wear. Only concern is that Salomon should move to slip resistant soles just like our winter tires.
