do not buy

Bought this product two years ago and wore for 2 weeks and had the same minor tearing that continually tore worse and worse. The footbed was super comfortable, but the mesh is awful. I got them replaced thinking there was just something wrong with the pair I got, switched sizes in case that was the problem and same thing happened. When I tried to contact Salomon again I was told, "we don't warranty an already warrantied pair" and was stuck with a poor product. This was after multiple phone calls to remedy the problem.

comfortable but not durable

I should have read the reviews. I have had several pairs of salomon trail shoes that were incredibly durable... These are starting to crack at the medial / big toe junction after minor usage, as others have commented on. They are comfortable and stable like my other Salomon shoes, but the upper material is not very durable.

Lasted 2 months

Purchased these shoes 2 months ago brand new. Wore about 3 days a week, and 2 holes wore into each shoe at the toes around 2 months in. I did not do anything aggressive in these shoes, just casual walking, hiking in the desert. Very dissapointed with how these held up. I have since switched to the Altra lone peak 6’s and love them

Mesh doesn’t hold up

Super comfortable shoe! Bought 2 pair in March of 2022-unfortunately the mesh just doesn’t hold up-

Excellent Shoe. Responsive and light.

The Ultra Raid is an excellent all rounder. Narrower at the front than the Ultra Pro with a sleek fit, perfect if you have a narrower foot. Standard lacing and a simple thin tongue that doesn’t hold water. The lugs are surprisingly grippy for such small lugs. I would like to see the rear counter with a slightly more durable outsole, especially if you run long or slow in this shoe when heel strike is greater but that’s certainly not a deal breaker. Sizing wise you can go 1 full size smaller than the Speedcross in my view. I am a 9.5UK in this shoe and would go 10.5 in Speedcross. It fits more like the range of road shoes where I have always been 9.5.

Great but...

Very comfortable right out of the box. I could comfortably wear all day. Light, breathes well and supportive. But... the mesh seems fragile. after just a dozen wears, very clear holes appear where the shoe bends and the foot leaves the ground. Not even from trail running or bush walking, just normal wear. Pretty disappointed.

Die hard Salomon fan and these are the most comfortable shoes that I have ever owned. Unfortunately, they fell apart in two weeks of walking from the train to work on sidewalks. They have the durability of a potato chip!

Great looking shoe with a MAJOR design flaw

Love this shoe, but like others have mentione, there is a major design flaw that rapidly degrades the upper where the toe box flexes. I would not recommend buying this shoe due to the wear after just light/casual use.

Love these but….

The mesh is weakest link. It has started to rip and tear at creases in toe box. Also, tounge design isn’t very comfortable at all. Style and comments are great. Lots of compliments. Too bad these won’t last.
