Shimano XTR BB94 Bottom Bracket

Simple, reliable, and smooth, Shimano's XTR BB94 Bottom Bracket presses easily into your frame to give you long-lasting and nearly friction-free pedaling. The stainless steel bearings, composite body, and composite cups are designed to work with Shimano HollowTech II cranks, and the threadless nature of the bracket makes installation a breeze. A small plastic O-ring keeps dirt, water, and debris sealed out, too, so you can put away the miles without worrying about conditions.

You get what you pay for

This and any other level 3 bearing bottom bracket will work but is is extremely basic and ads quite a bit of friction to your drive train. The level 5 bearing bottom brackets, for just a few dollars more are so much better. This one works, perfectly but you do so much more work for the same effort it is truly sad. If all you have is $40 bucks, this one works as good as any low end, super basic bottom bracket but you will pay for this choice in hard work. I hope this helps a lot of you decide without spending money on a product that is just too old school for even casual riding by todays standards. It works and is smooth, just a lot of friction. Install it, take off your chain and spin your crankset, you will see 3 revolutions. Replace it with a slightly better, level 5 bb bracket and experience 12-15 revolutions with the same effort. WOW is right. Good quality, and its resistance doesn't get better after it breaks in. Technology is too old for today, maybe a new rider can't tell the difference or good if you just take short rides.
