These padded briefs are well made. The cut, the fit, and the material are excellent. However, the chamois is extremely thin, and it is sewn into the briefs so far back that it does not provide any benefit to the areas that are actually engaging with the saddle. Rearward oriented chamois, even when they are much too thin, give the feeling that one is wearing diapers. Forward oriented chamois that do not hug the bottom and protect the soft tissue do not feel like diapers because they do not excessively cover the bottom. These briefs have a distinctively rearward oriented chamois. Regarding sizing: I am 165lbs, with a very athletic build. In NIKE Pro shorts, I take an XL. In most American made road cycling shorts, I take a medium. In Euro road shorts I take a large. I ordered an XL based on the measurement chart and because I did not want the waistband to cut into my belly. They were too big. I considered exchanging for a size large and then replacing the pad with a proper cycling chamois. The material and cut are that good.
