Innovative insulation in a stylish package.
Stroll snowy city streets in the down-like Women's Thermoball Insulated Parka by The North Face. PrimaLoft's innovative ThermoBall insulation mimics down feathers in order to provide the warmth you'd feel in most 600-fill down jackets, and it protects you from moisture in the same way that quick-drying synthetic insulation is known for. Unlike most synthetic insulation however, ThermoBall makes this parka packable, compressible, and lightweight for traveling in cold conditions.

- Q & A
Fit is a bit off, otherwise great
I was looking for a three quarter length hooded jacket to serve as a step down from my down parka for those cold-enough but not-quite-arctic-cold fall/winter days, as well as for winter car commute when a bulky coat is a hussle. This fits the bill. I particularly like the hood design - when zipped all the way up the hood easily stays on (many winter coat hoods tend to slide off during use for some reason). My only issue is the fit, it truly is a slim fit, I tried my usual size L first which looked good but didn't leave room for any layers. I went with XL which is plenty roomy but looks more sack-like. I wish there was a way to have room for layers and still preserve a flattering, more tailored fit.
Doesn't retain its warmth

I bought this jacket in December 2015. I was ecstatic at first and was raving about it to everyone for how warm but lightweight it was. Fast forward to less than 2 years now and the jacket has significantly lost its warmth. I contacted backcountry.com and all they could tell me was that it was outside their 30-day return policy window (really short), and how they don't have any warranty policies in place. Not helpful! I would invest a little more and buy a jacket that will retain its warmth years down the line!
