OK but lots of monthly bills

The device overall is ok in my opinion. It basically works. I found it kind of confusing to get it set up. It worked basically as advertised. The battery ran out just a bit faster than it said. The big problem with this device is that Zoleo is super aggressive about billing. I thought there was a free trial period. The problem is that they require 90 days notice to cancel. So, if you ever use the device, you will have to pay Zoleo some subscription fee even if you cancel it on day one. I personally think that is basically dishonest. I prefer not to use products from companies that play games like that.

This little device is MEGA!!! Easy to setup and allows you to stay connected with family and friends in the backcountry. I would highly recommend this device for any one that wants to stay safe and connected in the backcountry.

Great Communication in the backcountry

I am loving my ZOLEO. Super easy to set up with my iphone. Just add the free app and connect the device via bluetooth. Once set up, you get your dedicated SMS number which you can share with emergency contacts and friends. The device automatically switches from cellular or wifi to satellite so you never miss messages. Perfect for hut trips, camping trips, or just traveling. It gives my wife peace of mind knowing she can always reach me and I can send her check in messages so she knows we are on schedule. Just a great device and the dark sky weather app is a great perk.

Works awesome - seamless app

I love my ZOLEO. I find it is very easy to pair with my phone and send text messages or short e-mails. The ZOLEO has a unique feature that it tries to send messages using cellular or wi-fi before using the Iridium satellite network. This saves you money! ZOLEO supports check-in and SOS alerting via the built-in buttons so even if your phone is out of battery power. Key point as my phone seems to die often. Battery life is 200 hours and it charges in 2 hours. Seems to hold a charge well and I have had no issues with it. The outer case is tough and has a rubberized finish that is water, dust and shockproof. Good to know as I keep it attached to the outside of my pack.
